everytime I am inputting form if I press ^c form goes away
If I am filling a form, and I want to fill it by pasting (pressing control V) when I press the control key the form goes away. This happens only on this system. Something is set wrong but I have no idea what that might be.

On reflection I left out pertinent stuff (apologies):
I am running with ubuntu 16.04.3 I neglected to say that this happens in a drop down box only, not on a page that is not drop down. As soon as I press the control key the drop down box goes away.
I have also updated to 58.0 - same problem. I have this program installed on 3 other machines and none of the others have this problem so its gotta be some kind of setting.
I also tried shift-insert and THAT WORKED!

Does the other variant work?
- Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command+C)
- Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command+V)
- Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command+X)
This might be something with the Firefox version from the Ubuntu repositories.
Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (58.0) in all languages and all operating systems here:
