10/16/17. Android 601, FF 56.

This aft I suddenlt had an FB Messenger window in my FF, taking up space. How do Iremove this malware - and it IS malware - from my FF? The normal solutions many of you are about to suggest do not apply - see more below if interested.

Thank you.

More: this FB Messenger was installed without my knowledge, without my consent, without notice, and obviously without discernable contractual agreement. It has no go-away button, no config options, no way to uninstall. The only buttons are Text, Chat, and a Messenger button taking me to the messenger.com homepage which contains nothing but sales pitch about how great Messenger is.

Contrary to outdated internet threads, it does not show up in Settings\Apps or in FF addons. Contrary to more outdated internet threads, finding Messenger via AppFinder does not produce an uninstall option - only "Install".

Obviously all known methods of uninstallation have been deliberately and systematically removed in newer verdions by the malware authors at Facebook, or whoever controls it now.

Any ware installed like this, hidden like this, behaving like this, uninstallable like this, and KEPT uninstallable over successive versions like this is malware. Specifically adware.

I am interested in options for legal prosecution under any aoplicable laws.

I will also send this to anti-malware authors.
