after a recent software update for ubuntu 16.04 the home page no longer shows google but a message "problem loading page" & no googlealthough all else works ok

Pretty much as in my query.Everything works ok,surfing,vid dld,(except for Ant vid dlder) etc,but I can't use the google search box because of the "problem loading page" message which suggests that I have the wrong url for that page..Thing is,I don't know if there was a FFx update in the update of 3 days ago.Never had this problem before in about 6 yrs of using FFx. Downloadhelper for vids works ok though.That's about all really.

Hi

This is because the Ubuntu versions of Firefox some with an add-on pre-installed that does not work with more recent versions of Firefox.

This add-on sets the home page, but you can set it yourself by typing about:preferences in the address bar and looking at the homepage settings.
