HOW CAN I GET DROP & DRAG AND COPY & PASTE TO WORK BETWEEN FIREFOX AND WINDOWS 7 64BIT ?

more options

I am trying to get a file folder from the documents file in Windows 7 64Bit to an e-mail on Centurylink, my provider, with Firefox by using either drop/drag or copy/paste. IT will not work. I believe the problem is in Windows 7, because I have tried two other browsers with the same results.

Hi Better-Day, is there any reason you need to drag a folder rather than its contents (the individual files)? I don't think most browsers would give a website permission to explore and extract the contents of folders on your system.

If you want the files combined into a single container, you might consider using a compression utility like a Zip program. If you need a free one, you could use the open source 7-zip program. http://www.7-zip.org/

Hi jscher2000,

Thank you very much for the information and you were correct in your answer to the main problem. But I now have two more problems. First I am limited in the size of the zip file I can send, 10gb or less and secondly, I can only transmit the information at dial-up speed, about 82kb/s. I am running DSL at 10mb/sec and sending the information to a Dropbox of 1tb in size. I believe these problems are due to the Dropbox program and how it is set up. I know very little about Dropbox and how it works. The Dropbox belongs to someone else and I am only sending them information. So, I am really flying blind on this situation. Have a great week and thank you again.

Hi Michael, it's generally a good idea to limit the size of ZIP files to 4GB each, so you might need to compress them in groups. Of course, either way, the time may be the same...
