Followup: As James said before, The Yahoo toolbar add-on has been updated and the latest version fixes the problem. If you changed the xpinstall.signatures.required preference in the Firefox Configuration Editor (about:config page) as a workaround, you can go back and reset the preference back to true.

Hi tomyj1, I can see on your extensions list that Yahoo Toolbar is installed but disabled. If you go to the Add-ons page, Extensions list, is it possible to Enable it? If not, is there any explanation there for why it can't be enabled?

As you probably know by now, you can view your extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then check toward the bottom of the list on the right.

Mozilla does not make or maintain the Yahoo provided toolbar extension.

The vast majority of Extensions hosted at addons.mozilla.org are by a third-party unless the author is say Mozilla or Mozilla Labs for example.

To follow up on this: The Yahoo toolbar add-on becoming disabled in Firefox is a known issue that Mozilla and Yahoo are working on. The problem is related to the new add-on signing requirements that became mandatory in Firefox 43.

If the Yahoo toolbar shows up in the Add-ons manager Extensions list as disabled because it could not be verified for use in Firefox, follow the instructions in the Add-on signing in Firefox article under Override add-on signing (advanced users): Go to the Firefox Configuration Editor (about:config page) and double-click on the xpinstall.signatures.required preference to toggle the setting to false. Important: Changing this preference is only a temporary solution which will no longer work in Firefox 44.
