Firfox suddenly stopped working

I'm using IE to post this because my Firefox suddenly stopped working. It takes me to my homepage & then is "not responding." I can't do anything from there except shut it down.

I've re-set and re-downloaded it 3 times so far; each time it works, though I then have to re-do every personalization. Of course, as soon as I close the browser, I'm back where I started with "not responding."

I've tried clearing the cache, the history, the cookies, but nothing works. This is the end -- if you can't help me, I'm forced to choose another browser. Even the yucky ones are better than this.

Yes, I've done it 4 times so far. It works great...until I close the browser. Then, the next time I open it, we are back to "Not Responding."

To reiterate: I've refreshed 4 times, re-downloaded the program 3 times, cleared the history, cleared the cache, cleared the cookies. It's looking to me like you all are out of ideas. I think tomorrow will probably be the last shot. Then it's good-bye Firefox, hello Chrome.

Firefox is better...or used to be, when it worked. But I've spent 10 days trying to fix this. I think that's more than enough time to find a solution. At any rate, it's far more of my life than I care to devote to this.
