I have a 2008 Mac book Pro. I recently installed Parallels desktop 11 so that I could install windows 10 onto an Extertal hard drive. Ever since then my Firefox browser, which is currently up-to-date, will not allow me to download anything such as email attachments or anything. Every time I tried to download anything it fails. However if I close Firefox, which is currently my default browser, and open Safari, which I do not prefer, all of those same things are easily downloading. What do I do so that I can download like I always have with Firefox and not use Safari? On my laptop I am running OS X 10.10.4.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I followed the instructions clearly and Firefox works but it still will not let me download anything. When I click any attachment to download the blue arrow in the toolbar on the top right-hand corner becomes illuminated and then becomes black again. When I click on the black downward pointing arrow a message box shows up that the attachment failed. I can still not download anything in Firefox. Is there anyway we could set up a telephone appointment that I could have an actual back-and-forth conversation with a human being so that we can work on this together until it gets solved? Until that time I will simply continue to use Safari at my browser. Please advise.

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

There are also managers that work independent from Firefox.

I must start by saying that I'm assuming that an actual employee of Mozilla is the person who is replying to me with these possible solutions. If it is not then please except my appreciation for your effort in trying to help me with this problem however I am becoming very frustrated. With all due respect I do not want to read seven or eight articles trying to troubleshoot and find out what's wrong with your product on my computer. I want to talk to someone live who will stay with me on the phone to troubleshoot this problem until it's solution is found. If no one at Mozilla is willing to do this then the answer is simple… I will just use Safari from now on. How would you like to handle this?
