Firefox is frozen & *won't* start in Safe Mode. I can open a new Firefox thru Terminal but that doesn't help me shut the frozen Firefox.
Hi,
I've read several tutorials on this page but can't find one which answers my problem.
ISSUE: I quit mozilla using "Command-Q" in Mac OS10.10.3 OS X Yosemite. Then I went to shut down my computer and got a Shutdown has timed out because FireFox has failed to quit error message. Force Quit in the Apple Menu and command-click+ Force Quit didn't work.
TRY 1: I tried to restart in Safe Mode - Didn't work.
TRY 2: I read some tutorials and opened Firefox in Terminal by entering the following text: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin
This opened a new firefox window that seemed to work. I can quit out of this window using the dropdown menu and command-Q. BUT this doesn't do anything to the version of firefox that is still failing to quit, so I still can't shut down my computer.
What do I do? I have never made a Firefox Profile and the "make a new profile" screen doesn't come up when I open a new Firefox window through Terminal.
Thanks.
