I tried to look at my old sent messages and they would not appear. I clicked on fix this folder and now I can see them but only back to 2012.

I had my sent emails stored since 2008 when I went to look at some of them today they would not show up when I selected view source it showed mumble jumbo as if it was a picture. I clicked on the folder and selected repair this folder and now the messages from 2012 and current show up but the older ones from 2008 to 2012 are gone.
