Sync key dont work.

Long time ago i do your sync and get key: XXX now after hard disc crush, i install new windows want to sync my passwords and bookmarks and i can't do it becouse i dont see field to enter that key. I always do firefox update and i never see information after update: HELLOW USER WE CHANGE FIREFOX SYNC DO YOUR ACCOUNT OR YOU DATA WILL BE LOST.
So now im asking. Where can i enter that code and have my data back?

hello Piter_Pit, firefox 29 and above use a new sync login system which isn't compatible with the old username/password/sync-key method anymore.
however you could try this "hack" to get a new firefox version to connect to an old sync account: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), right-click somewhere in that page & create a new string preference named services.sync.usernamewith a value like fake.
afterwards you should be able to connect to the old account through the firefox options > sync panel. if this worked and you could import your data successfully, please migrate to the new sync afterwards: Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more
I do it and i dont see option; GET DATA BACK, ENTER YOUR SYNC KEY... Only I see GENERETE NEW SYNC KEY ;/
after you have changed the preference in about:config, go to firefox options > sync. then click on set up firefox sync > i have an account > i don't have the device with me - there you can enter your existing credentials.

Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner - to do a long term backup of your Firefox data. It is intended to be used to synchronize Firefox data across multiple devices, where your data would still be on other devices if you would need to restore the operating system on one device.
It might be helpful if you can provide a screenshot or two of what you are seeing.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
If you have generated a new Sync key already or requested a new password, your data is gone!
Your only hope to recover your data is to install Firefox 28 and then connect to the old Sync system using your Sync key, along with your email address and the account password. If you don't have all three, there is zero chance of getting your data back vs. maybe a 10% chance if you have all three and haven't requested or reset for a new "Key" or a new password.
