Did our open source Firefox get taken over by Google programmers? I am starting to think the change to Chrome look was orchestrated by Google swarming.

Eight months since the Australis UI was first released and that's the best criticism that you can come up with?

I'm sorry, but do you have an actual Firefox problem? If you just want to criticize the Firefox design, that's a rather pointless exercise. Feel free to use another browser, or change Firefox's look How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox

I notice you're not really answering my question, so I'll take that as an affirmation. Thanks a lot for ruining what used to be the best browser in the world.

Such silliness doesn't deserve an answer. You're welcome.

Yet you seem compelled to reply. IMHO Google has made a concerted effort to hijack Mozilla - am I wrong?

Yes, the non-profit Mozilla was purchased by Google, didn't you hear? Even though there are no shares or shareholders to be purchased...

Just because the design (which we actually came up with before Chrome did) is similar doesn't mean Firefox was "taken over". Please don't be ridiculous.

Heck some people thought the new UI (since Fx 29.0) had resemblance to recent IE instead.

If the new design was in fact before Chrome then all I can do is protest - its a crappy design and forces desktop, laptop users to deal with space-wasting mobile-centric programming. Why are you wasting my screen real-estate?

Its like you're designing for a phone, when in fact most people still use laptops or desktops to browse.

I'm really frustrated as a developer having to rejig everything to deal with apple OS - basically its a non-market among our corporate clients.

Oh, so you're a developer? Building or updating applications re-actively rather rather than pro-actively. IOW, closing the barn door after the cows have escaped and are two counties away.

Evidently you didn't keep up with the development of the Australis / UX version of the Nightly channel, because if you had "kept up" you would have seen this new user interface over year ago (many months before it was actually released) or as long as two years ago when it was first being developed separate from the Nighty's that went on to Aurora, then Beta, then were released.

As far as "space-wasting mobile-centric programming", how about some screenshots [with markup] of how Firefox 29+ versions "waste space" versus the Firefox 28 and earlier versions?

Basically, your approach to "support" here wasn't that of a professional who takes his job seriously, but rather that of someone who has "a day late and a dollar short" complaints about things that happened many months ago (6 versions ago) and who doesn't want to be taken seriously.

Yes, I am a developer - from C, to C++, to VB, to C# and pretty much every version of SQL there is. java(ecma)script including dojo and jQuery libraries etc. I have been doing this probably for longer than you were alive, son - what I have seen here is that Firefox has been hijacked by a bunch of idiots who know little to nothing about real world applications and just want to make it work with their iPhone - you included.

locking this thread, as it doesn't contain a particular request for support. if you just want to leave feedback, use https://input.mozilla.org/feedback instead as mentioned before....

Considering that I was born in the last year of the first half of the last century, I probably could call you "sonny" if I was inclined to disrespect you in such a manner.

I find it quite funny that you believe we are designing Firefox just to "work on your iPhone" when Firefox doesn't even run on the iPhone. Please take some time to educate yourself about things before you decide to troll. It at least makes it more interesting.
