The latest Adobe Flash in Firefox is using about 15% to 30% of a 4-core CPU continuously which is excessive and inexcusable. Firefox displaying a video with HTML5 uses 1% to 8% CPU and the video quality is most excellent (where it is allowed to display video, i.e. no monopoly by Flash.) I have to lay the entire blame for this on Adobe and their arrogance over their assumed monopoly. I think Mozilla need to exert influence in the form of dialogue and pressure to get Adobe to kick their developers into turning Flash into an efficient and elegant program instead of the abominable memory and resource hog that it has become. Adobe have been allowed the luxury of believing themselves to have become essential. There are other companies' products that can easily replace every Adobe product and in many cases do a better job. Adobe has gotten fat and lazy. Mozilla, help Adobe to the gym. They need to lay off the Cheetos and straighten up their act.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

The high CPU usage only occurs when Flash is in use. Stop skirting the problem. Are you afraid of Adobe?

Not me. I'm only afraid of the Big Bad Wolf. Who's that knocking at my door?
