Hi all, I just noticed that there was an update to Firefox’s sync service and it seems that my old sync details no longer work so I need to move to the new system. Since I do so much of my work and I keep so much highly personal information in Firefox, I just wanted to know how I can check if this new Firefox sync service is safe. Is my personal information safe? Can my personal information be shared with others? Can the Mozilla people access my personal information? I didn’t want to use Firefox Sync until I was 100% certain that it was safe and nobody could access my personal information such as the Mozilla people or anyone else.

Its honestly up to you, whatever meets your needs. Firefox Sync is nice because it's built in, free, secure and easy. Lastpass may have other features that meet your needs better though, it's all something your personal experience is the only thing that can tell.

Could anyone help me out?

Which way did you come in?

Seriously, what do you need help with? Deciding whether to use Sync or not isn't like a month and a half long process. If you try Sync and later decide that you don't like it, just unlink each device from the Firefox Accounts server.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm hesitant to use Firefox Sync simply because I use Firefox more than any other app and I keep so much personal information in Firefox. If I used Firefox Sync it'd be like I'm putting my whole life in the cloud...

Your whole life ? A bit of an exaggeration, isn't it. Are you even aware of what categories of data are handled by the Sync service?

Sync allows you to synchronize 6 categories of data. Which types if data are you worried about synchronizing?

I think you are over thinking this. If you want your devices to be synchronized, then yes, all the data in your browser will be in the cloud (no matter what service you use). If thats something you want, then choose a service, try it, if you like it, keep it. If you don't like it, try another one. This is pretty straight forward.
