Right, I don't even know what has caused this to happen, was in the process of removing the very annoying Trovi search engine, and had to reset Firefox to do so.

Next upon loading it up again I'm confronted with:

This Connection is Untrusted.

I've been using firefox since it started and am a great fan of it and would like to continue using it without having to resort back to the all evil Internet Explorer or even google chrome.

I've spent the last few hours looking around mozilla's forums and help sections trying to fix/resolve the issue my self.

I have uninstalled and re-installed it, made sure that my system clock is correct. Which I'd be surprised if it was since it's synced anyways.

I have made sure that it is allowed through my firewall as well.

Getting very bored of having to manually check certificates and allowing access to sites that I have been using for years. IE. facebook, gmail, and other secure sites.

Any advice would be great.

Can you give me a full list of your programs on your computer? (In Programs and Features of Control Panel) Also, in Firefox, click the Menu button, Help button (button with question mark), and Troubleshooting Information. In Troubleshooting Information, click the Copy text to clipboard button and paste it here.

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.

  • Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
  • Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate"
  • Click the "View" button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.

You can see more details like the intermediate certificates that are used in the Details tab.

  • Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
  • Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.

Nope not helpful, as I said I have already done this and that it isn't an issue as my computer is set to auto sync time and is never offline long enough for that the be an issue.

Did you check who is the issuer of the certificate?

more options

Yeah I have, and considering the type of websites that are giving me the issues i.e:

google.com facebook.com yahoo.com gmail.com

which are https:\\ are the ones that are giving me problems. Something that never given me any issues before either.

What I mean is the issuer of the certificate. A valid certificate chain for this forum shows:

Yup, though i just loaded this up in firefox to check and

E = loca@mail.com CN = Loca OU = Loca department O = Loca Inc. L = LA ST = LA C = US

Well just as a whim decided to download an older version of firefox to see if that would make a difference. Uninstalled 33.0.2.. then installed 30.0.0. Same issues still.

So delelted 30.0.0 unstalled, 33.0.2 again. and to my surprise it is actually working without any issues anymore.

Anyways thank you for your assistance.
