I have been using Cyberfox and Waterfox, both being 64bit browsers. I haven't had any serious issues that can not be worked around. Tonight, I decided to watch something on Netflix and it will not play on Waterfox. I called Netflix customer support and got someone who I do not entirely trust and was told I should use IE. This is because she only uses Apple. When I told her I was using a PC, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about and kept asking whether this was a tablet or some other portable. She also insisted that I need to download the ap before Netflix will work. When I finally got her to recognize that just maybe I might know what I was talking about, she started attacking Firefox saying that it is not supported by Netflix because what ever I'm using is not authorized. Well, hell. The only version of anything I have tried that is somewhat different from anything else is your 64bit Waterfox. Ok, I get it. She's a Apple snob with no tolerance for anything un-apple, and even less tolerance for someone who tries to pin her down on an answer to a technical question concerning Netflix. Instead she decided to condescend and wanted to hold my hand thru going to google.com to download Firefox rather than give me an answer. Or do what she told me to do first, use IE.

Now, for the technical part. Is there something about Waterfox that will not play Netflix streams. It plays anyone else's stream with out any problems. Oh, it has an issue with player on the RDIO site also.

What is the work around for these problems? If any?

Thanx andythebeagle, Rochester, NY a_moon@frontier.com

Neither Waterfox nor Cyberfox are official builds, and neither is supported by Mozilla.

Firefox is open source and anyone can copy the code and create their own fork of the code and publish their version under a different name. See also this page: about:license

I thought I downloaded Waterfox from a Mozilla site. Maybe not. However I think I have my answer. I still need to do more research on both.

Some times I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The words "Open source" should have told me, but being slow it sped right past. The pic shows what I'm good at.

Thanx so much for your patience and understanding.
