Is it suppose to take more than an hour for mozilla to check my plug-ins so I can update them?

I'm trying to update my plugins after the latest Firefox update. I clicked on tools, add-ons, plugins, update plug-ins. I have waited for over an hour and the pin wheel is still spinning and no plug-in updates have appeared. Now what?

This is absurd. The problem has resolved itself but now I can't delete the question.
