Last sunday (aug-17) appears a program call Baidu in my PC. Baidu says it can clean all adwares and malwares from my laptop for free. I accept and it did, erase all addware and malware and my laptop became faster. However It takes full control of my laptop and my email. Baidu adds apears everytime everywhere. I was reading how to clean it and I have done all the recipes I have found (1 of them erase startup register and have to rehabilite my lap with my windows CD). After 2 or 3 hours baidu reappears and it is allocated in Mozilla registers. I do not know what to do. For the moment I must quit using mozilla and start using Opera. Later I am thinking to move to Android PC or Linux PC. Any idea or solution will be appreciated. Ivan Castilla

Did you download Baidu, or did it just show up?

From your description, it sounds like Baidu is mal-ware.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Dear Fred, I was reading Baidu comes attached with any demo, free or trial software you download from the net. I use to download videos and watch news in the internet. I tun off my TV 7 years ago. I can not know when or how it was donwloaded to my lap. However last sunday appears a small box at inferior lext corner of my screen that says. I can clean your laptop from viruses and malwares for free. Then I accept. I feel safe because I was using bitdefender free edition AV. Baidu erase many adwares (or at least a message showing that appears). My laptop bacames faster and I was happy. Later, when surfing the net, pop widows appears. I have blocked them in the browser but they appear. At first I ignore them but later it was impossible to work. Then I turn on my desktop and try to find solutions. The best solutions I find are: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/baidu-pc-faster-virus/ and a man that says you this: Uninstall baidu (all of them) at this point your PC became a turtle. Then run adwcleaner and restart computer. Open windows search at start buttom. Search for all files and folders with the word "baidu" and erase them. Search for the word "baidu"in all computer and erase them. Start regedit and search for "baidu"and erase all those registers. Finally restart your computer. I did all of that, and worsk fine, but later if you restar mozilla, baidu comeback :( I erase Mozilla and reinstall, nothing was fixed, baidu come back. Now I decide close Mozilla and use Opera. But before I do, I decide post this problem in forum. Thank you,

Ivan Castilla

PD- I was a professional programmer working in real-time simulation of nuclear plants and I do not trust any Microsoft program.

That's a 4 step process. You completed steps 1 and 2, so now you need to complete that process by using Malwarebytes and HitMan Pro to finish the job.

Dear edmeister....

I did the 4 steps process several times described in the link, http://malwaretips.com/blogs/baidu-pc-faster-virus/

The other process I described is from other people recommendation.

Until now, none process work, is a headache.

more options

Repeat the 4 step again, but start with Firefox add-ons manager first.

Dear Edmeister,

English is not my native language, please explain. 1- I must run Firefox add-ons manager and what must I do there? 2- Repeat the HitmanPro scanning or the whole 4 steps process?

Thank you,

Ivan Castilla

Press Control Shift A to open the add-ons manager. Look thru all the menus and remove anything about Baidu. Then try the four steps once more.
