Completely remove all traces of add-on beyond just 'removing' it
I have an add-on that suddenly stopped working and removing then reinstalling it doesn't fix it. Is there a way to make sure that no files or settings or any trace is left when you remove it? Maybe those are causing the problem. I know lots of programs leave stuff behind even when they claim to have been removed.
There were no changes to FF or the extensions or computer at the time the extension stopped working.
FF 28. All suggestions to upgrade will be ignored.

Update to Firefox 30 or move to another browser. We can't help you with an old, out of date and insecure version.
Please read the entire post. I think you missed the last sentence.
I did, which is why I posted that. Why don't you want to update?
