Setting the Screen Lock

The screen lock feature allows you to make your phone more secure.

Setting the lock

  1. Tap settings icon to open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down to Privacy & Security and tap Phone lockScreen lock.

  3. On the resulting screen you will have 2 options:

  4. Tap the button next to the option you want, or both to turn them on.
    • Lock Screen - Provides no protection, allowing you to quickly access the homescreen.
    • Passcode lock - Allows you to set a four-digit passcode, which protects your phone from intrusions.
  1. Tap Settings- 2.0 (small) to open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down to Privacy & Security and tap Screen lock.
  3. On the resulting screen, tap the switch next to your desired option to enable it (the check mark means it's enabled fos enabled):
    • Lock Screen - Provides no protection, allowing you to quickly access the homescreen.
    • Passcode lock - Allows you to set a four-digit passcode, which protects your phone for unauthorized access.
Note: You will be prompted to set a passcode if you choose to have a passcode lock.

Changing your Passcode

You can change your passcode as often as you want.

  1. To change your current passcode tap the Change Passcode button at the bottom of the lock settings panel.

  2. Enter your current passcode to authenticate that you are the owner of the device.

    • Type in your new desired passcode.
    • Tap the Change button when you are finished.

You can change your passcode as often as you want:

  1. Tap the Settings app Settings- 2.0 (small), then tap Screen lock.
  2. Tap Change Passcode button.
  3. Enter your current passcode to prove that you are the owner of the device.
  4. Type in your new desired passcode, then Change when you are finished.
Whoever turns on your phone screen will be prompted to enter a passcode in order to access your device.

SIM PIN

You can also add a SIM PIN to prevent access to your SIM card. When enabled, any device containing the SIM card will request the SIM PIN upon restart.

  1. To set a SIM PIN, tap on settings icon to go to the Settings app.
  2. Swipe up to until your see the Privacy and Security section.
  3. Tap on SIM security.
  1. To set a SIM PIN, tap Settings- 2.0 (small) to open your settings.
  2. Tap SIM manager, and then SIM security.
  3. Tap the switch fos enabled next to your desired SIM card.
  4. Enter your desired PIN on the next screen, then tap Done.
Important: The SIM PIN is not the same as the passcode used to unlock your phone!
