I used to use Thunderbird exclusively, but GoDaddy dumped my three main mailboxes into Exchange Server; even with Owl, Tbird could only be used for one of them, so I was forced into Outlook for those accounts. But I kept Thunderbird to use with the non-GoDaddy mailboxes. However. I did not remove the GoDaddy accounts from Thunderbird, as I was busy. Now, when I click the Thunderbird icon on my taskbar, Outlook comes up instead. Ditto when I enter Thunderbird on the start menu! It's not even my normal Outlook, which has my main three mailboxes. but an Outlook that shows only the least-used of the three. How do I get Thunderbird back? And when I do, how do I delete those three mailboxes from it?

I can't do batch delete or move from the Inbox. It will only do one file at a time, despite the fact that several are highlighted.

It is also repeatedly trying to download a few thousand files to the Inbox. It gets to the number of files, then hangs, then starts to do it again (except each time it's fewer files to download). I don't know if the two problems are related.

Apparently, from the bits I've read, the "solution" is to scrap Thunderbird and start anew with the knowledge that I set up my accounts "wrong" because I relied on the automatic setup and was ... led astray???

Frankly I expected better.

The reason I tried to switch to Thunderbird was because Apple Mail was behaving erratically (forcing threaded view though it was turned off) and there was no way to contact anyone about problems. However, typical for Apple because they don't communicate with users, the problem seem to have mysteriously resolved.

Anyway I'm switching back to Apple. For now. Because I don't want to play guessing games with my email about how to do things properly. Frankly, I'd switch to Gmail which all of my friends say behaves well. But I also don't want to be tracked and Google is evil in this regard. So here I am.

TWO issues: 1. TB use to display emails in the INBOX immediately. Now I have to click another folder then go back to Inbox for the emails to be visible.

2. Emails with the red flame are junk emails. I think those use to automatically go to the Junk folder but now they're showing up in my Inbox and I have to manually send them to Junk folder. Am I wrong on this or has something changed?

Hi team. Since yesterday, Thunderbird has stopped receiving and sending emails from both my accounts. Get this error message: Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead. Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to live.thunderbird.net. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details. How can I fix this? Regards, Tonia

Hello. Cox.com (my current email account) is no longer servicing emails and is switching my 4 email accounts to yahoo. I am to sign in with my cox.com address (which is not changing), but my emails will show in Yahoo. Since this account is already listed in Thunderbirsd with Cox.com (not a new email), I need to be able to configure Thunderbird to get my emails from Yahoo. They have only transferred 1 of 4 so far, so I will need this information for the other 3 when it happens. Thank you for any help. I have already missed some emails.

I was going through some of my old archived email and found some with huge image files attached to them. I then detached the images, resized/compressed using a jpg tool and wanted to reassociate them with the email.

This sounds ridiculous, but it would be nice to be able to do it if I can and I'm just missing the menu item to let me do it.

I read that to import Outlook (I have 365) pst files I need 'downgrade' from Thunderbird 115 to Thunderbird v 38.1 .

But that was an older post, so I am hoping there are now ways to import pst files directly into Thurderbird 115 (I have a lot, each with lots of e-mails).

If not: 1) can I leave 115 on my computer and install v 38.1 in addition - import the outlook pst files into 38.1, store them as 'local files' on my hard drive and then connect those to 115 ? 2) Since I read something about installing v 38.1, importing the pst files (and presumably storing them as local files on the hard drive/external drive?) and then updating that to v 115, I suspect that 1) is not an option. 3) so next question is (haven't searched for that yet) : if I have to delete 115, I will have to re-connect all my local folders once I am upgraded again to 115. I have them all (a lot) stored on an external drive - is there guidance somewhere on how to get those 'recognized' all at the same time by Thunderbird 115 ? (Outlook is not very userfriendly in that regard, one needs to 'open' each pst file individually). 4) final question while I am at it: latest outlook version has limitation on the number of pst files one can have open at the same time - I found that out the hard way. Is there also a limitation on how many local folders one can have in thunderbird 115 ? THANKS A LOT in advance for your help (this is my second time asking for help and last time I got an e-mail with an absolutely perfect answer). Annette.

Good morning Windows 10, TB 115.11.0 32 bit. Multiple email accounts, some gmail, others like sfr, lol and free. All accounts use POP. All working before weekend, shut down the PC. Monday morning, opened Windows, all seems there except TB which has a screen with an Account Setup tab inviting me to set up an existing email address. Close that tab and the attached screen image appears, open tabs blank, no accounts pane on the left, no emails, no local folders. Nuffin. Restart TB and Windows, twice, still Nuffin. Look in Profiles, yes, under Mail all profiles appear to be present and the correct size. Going to gmail’s on line email system shews account open and receiving email normally. I had a problem a month ago after a TB update when all accounts were present but no emails were displayed. I changed the password to 0auth and recovered my emails. That took three days to resolve and I lost a business client through the delay in responding. Today I must file several court documents or I shall be in deep poo. Any suggestions how to recover the left hand accounts pane and see the accounts and folders will earn my undying gratitude.

My Thunderbird Inbox is set up to order the emails so the oldest emails are at the top of the list, and the part of the list that is showing in the window on the screen is the bottom of the list, therefore the most recent emails. However, when I open Thunderbird to look at the emails in the Inbox, while the list is in the order as just specified (oldest at the top, newest at the bottom), what I see on the screen is the section of the list of the emails that arrived about 6 weeks ago. To see the most recent emails I have to move the list up the window. It has been doing this for about 2 months.

Any idea why it is doing this, and how to 'fix' it, please?

Thankyou
