re :I tried changing the password and no link was sent to do this even though I signed for that!!

You can only create, modify or change etc passwords in the webmail account for that email address. You would need to attempt to login to your Internet Service Providers website and answer a load of questions in order to gain access. You may have set a system where they send a text message to a phone you have registered with them. If it is not an email address for your ISP, but maybe your own website hosted with someone, then they usually send an email to another email address you have registered as a contact email address.

If you attempted to use the 'Forgotten Password' link to gain access in this forum website, then you are not asking in the correct place as this forum has nothing to do with any of your email accounts.

If thunderbird usually automatically sends your passwords then they are saved in Thunderbird password manager and you can see them by doing the following:

  • Menu icon > Options > Security > 'Passwords' tab
  • click on 'Saved Passwords' button
  • click on 'Show Passwords' button.

If you need to, make a temporary note of the passwords.

re :My Thunderbird just updated and I can't sign in There maybe a glitch with the passwords, so please try the following.

In Thunderbird

  • 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
  • click on 'Open Folder' button

A new window opens showing the contents of your 'profile name' folder.

  • Exit Thunderbird now - this is important.

Locate and delete the following files:

  • key4.db
  • pkcs11.txt

Start Thunderbird.
