You can't make any of those three work for you? The Config Editor is about the easiest.

Zenos: I am using Mac OS10.12.6 and I have located my profile in Thunderbird 52.7.0 (64bit). In that Thunderbird profile folder I have created the folder "chrome". I have attempted to create the "userChrome.css". PROBLEM- I can not find a program to create the file and to cut and paste the text (that you illustrated) into it. How is this done? I am relatively Mac computer literate, but not too code literate. Please assist again. I appreciate your time in this.

I am afraid that I am macos-illiterate.

The TextEdit program looks as if it can do this, but I have seen postings to this forum from users complaining that it won't let them save a plain text file.

This article appears to explain how to do this.

Other than that, atom looks like a very capable (and possibly over capable) editor.
