Can't open other web sites in google search after opening Google ad linked site

Strange issue I've noticed a few times. So if I search for something in Google and at the top of the search results page there are the 'ad link' search results. If I left click to open one of these ad link web sites I can't left click and open any other search result web site. I have to right click and open all the other web sites in another tab. This only applies to all the links on Google page 1 of the search results. If I go to the 2nd page of search results, left clickng does open the web sites.

Any idea what causes this?
