How do i prevent FF from auto-zooming when i tap a text box?

On many websites, whenever i tap a text box to input, ff automatically zooms the screen to maximum size... and its driving me crazy. Then when I try to zoom back out so that I can actually see the text that I am trying to input, it exits the keyboard AND the text field, forcing me tap the text box again, which starts the cycle again. What gives? How do I fix it?
