Use Sync to share your Firefox bookmarks, passwords and more with Firefox for mobile

You can use Firefox Sync to share your bookmarks, passwords, settings, history, and tabs between your desktop and mobile. First just set up Firefox Sync on your desktop and then add your mobile device with the easy setup code.

Part 1: Set up Firefox Sync on your desktop

The Sync KeyRecovery Key is used to encrypt your data before it's sent to the Mozilla servers. Think of it as a key that locks your information in a vault that only you can open. This means that neither Mozilla nor anyone else can read your information without having your Sync KeyRecovery Key to unlock it. - Confirm that you are not a robot by entering the text from the image. Then click .
- You will see a Setup Complete! message. Click to close the setup window and take you back to the Sync panel.
- You do not need to do anything else. Firefox Sync will automatically sync your data in the background from here on. This first sync should happen quickly but may take more than 30 minutes depending on how much information needs to be synced.
- At the top of the Firefox window, click the buttonclick the menu and select . The Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
- Click .
- Fill in your account details:
- Email address
- Choose a password and enter it a second time to make sure you have it right.
- Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Part 2: Get the easy setup code on your mobile
Get the code on an Android device
- Tap the Set up Firefox Sync button on the Firefox Start page.

- Note: You can also access Sync through the main menu > > , see Controls.

- The code to add this device appears.

- Swipe left, tap the settings icon and select the Preferences tab.
- Under the Sync section, tap .
- The code to add this device will be displayed.
Part 3: Connect your mobile to your Sync account
Enter the setup code on your desktop to connect your mobile to your Sync account
- In the Firefox Sync Account section, click on Add a Device and the Add a Device window will open.
- Enter the code in the Add a Device window as it's displayed on your second device. Then click . See Where can I find the code to add a device to Firefox Sync? for more information
- When the code is accepted you will see a Device Connected message in Firefox and your device will immediately begin syncing. Click to close the setup window and go back to the Sync panel.
- Click the button (or type about:home in the location bar) to bring up the default Firefox home page.
- At the bottom of the home page, click the Pair a Device link and the Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
- Enter the twelve character code generated on your other device and click .

- Click the button (or type about:home in the location bar) to bring up the default Firefox home page.
- At the bottom of the home page, click the Sync link to open the Sync settings window.

What if I'm not near my computer?
Do these steps on the mobile device that you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
If you are trying to add a device to Firefox Sync and you are not near your computer so that you can enter the code, you can still get it done by entering your account information.
Connect an Android device
Do these steps in Firefox for mobile on your Android device.
