Options window
This document explains all of the optionspreferences available in the OptionsPreferences window of Mozilla Firefox. General panel
The General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5) contains optionspreferences related to the most commonly used settings, such as what you first see when Firefox starts and how Firefox handles file downloads. For more information, see Options window - General panel.
Tabs panel
The Tabs panel contains optionspreferences related to the tabbed browsing feature. For more information, see Options window - Tabs panel.
Content panel
The Content panel contains optionspreferences related to how websites are displayed. For more information, see Options window - Content panel.
Applications panel
The Applications panel lets you decide how Firefox should handle different types of files (e.g. PDF documents or audio files). It shows you a list of content types and lets you select an action for each type, such as opening with an application, opening in Firefox using a plugin, or saving the file. Privacy panel
The Privacy panel contains optionspreferences related to your privacy. As you browse the web, information on where you have been, what pages you have visited, etc. are stored here. For more information, see Options window - Privacy panel.
Security panel
The Security panel contains optionspreferences related to keeping your web browsing safe. For more information, see Options window - Security panel.
Sync panel
The Sync panel lets you set up or manage a Firefox Sync account. Firefox Sync is a service that lets you synchronize your bookmarks, history, passwords and open tabs with another copy of Firefox – like one on another computer or on a mobile phone. Advanced panel
The Advanced panel contains optionspreferences for settings that aren't used that often, such as checking to see if Firefox is the default browser, clearing the disk cache, settings for Firefox updates, and various advanced settings that only certain people may need.
