I'm familiar with having to clear out these hijacking extensions and such but for some reason my url bar is set to use "Search Among" by default and I do not appear to have any traces of their program anywhere. Please help!

I have a new computer (HP ENVY) with Windows 8. I can use only part of a website with Firefox or Chrome. The site uses Java script. The only browser I can use for all of the site is Internet Explorer. On my old computer with Vista, I never had a problem using Firefox with any site. When I right click on an unusable tab on the website, and select "inspect element", there seems to be numerous errors in the resulting dialog. I received some malware (pup.software) with my new computer and it has been removed by Anti malware bytes. Could this be the problem i.e. did the malware damage that site? - or does Firefox and java not work together on windows 8?

Generally I will have 1 or 2 Firefox windows open with possibly 4 or 5 tabs in each. I may be reading an article, or doing nothing at all, away from computer not touching anything and presto CRASH. This has been a nearly daily occurrence, sometimes multiple times in a day, rarely go 2 days without at least one. There seems to be no common thread to the crashes. I have done all of the updates, tips, etc. that I can find. All "Add-ons" are up to date except that I have tried to update "Adobe Acrobat" several times and, although I go through the process and it says it is done / completed, it still comes up in my "Add-ons manager" as "Outdated Plugins". I've run multiple virus and malware scans, all clean. I'm running Windows Vista. Firefox 20.0.1 for Android only loads the desktop version of the adwords site on my Samsung Galaxy S2. There is no mobile site link visible. This has been the case for ever. I was expecting it to be fixed in an upgrade that never came.

In fact, Adwords only seems to recognize FF as an older browser and presents me with a notice that I should use a newer version.

I just purchased a new EV certificate from Entrust and installed in on my website. Now with IE and Chrome I get the nice green bar, but FF shows a blue bar and says "which is run by unknown".

Hello, I started having a problem opening hotmail a few days ago using firefox. When I click on www.hotmail.com it opens as a blank page with no error message. I can open it in IE but I don't use that browser as it is too slow for me. I have followed all suggestions including, clearing cookies, cache, plugins, downloaded latest version of firefox and I still can not open hotmail. Please can someone help me? Thank you

What is starting Firefox when I reboot my Mac. Firefox is not open when I shut down. I do NOT have 'reopen windows when logging back on' checked. I do not have Firefox in my Login Items under my user options either?

I can no longer bring up/down the Web Console with the Ctrl + Shift + K keyboard shortcut, nor is any shortcut listed next to it under Tools-->Web Developer.

Not having a shortcut is such a hassle, what good reason is there to remove it?

If it was me who somehow removed it (haven't edited about:config any time recently), I appreciate tips on how to bring it back.

I cannot add bookmarks. I have tried many resolutions, but still no results. I used to be able to bookmark, but now this doesn't happen. This happened after I refreshed my system.

I can no longer bring up the Error Console by typing Ctrl + Shift + J and then I looked under Tools-->Web Developer and do not see the Error Console listed there.

Has it been removed? On the other hand, I don't recall Firefox updating in the last couple days, but what could I have done to remove it by accident?

If so, is there an extension being used by people who still want this feature?

I clicked on the "Check to see if your plugins are up to date" in the Plugins section in Add-ons Manager. I see a bunch of Google plugins (Picasa, Google Update, Google Talk Plugin Video Renderer) and Windows Live Photo Gallery in a section titled "Unknown Plugins". I was wondering if this is a problem on the end of the makers of these plugins (not keeping them up to date or not making them in such a way that Firefox can recognize whether or not they are) or if it is something on my end?

Also, my "Google Earth Plugin" is outdated but clicking Update Now does nothing. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Before making mozilla Firefox a major part of my computer I am checking to see that programs that I need will work with it.

  I found out that I can't add-on "PAINT-SHOP PRO" which is my number one graphic program and without it I may as well mot use mozilla Firefox.
Am I doing something wrong or are listed add-ons all that can be used with Firefox?  Is there a replacement, equal-too, program that I can use?

I get this message all the time?

The only way I have found to fix this is deleting the cert8.db file. This is happening so often that I can no longer use FF anymore. Why is this file getting corrupt? I have plenty of disk space on this machine so that is not an issue.

as stated above when i try to access my Verizon e-mail account i get a security message stating..........."Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party. "i don't feel this is safe, Verizon tech support is telling me its a firefox issue. please advise me on how to resolve this issue

My Dashboard for 2 websites have issues when running via Firefox. I get pages which are totally corrupted from what I usually get. What is going wrong with the update?

I've been getting two "this script is running slow" messages a lot lately in Firefox 20.0.1 and Firefox 21. It mostly happens when I'm accessing webmail from Optimum or when I'm at www.bufferapp.com but it's not limited to those two web sites.

The one script it says is running slow is https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8/jquery.min.js:2 and the other is https://d389zggrogs7qo.cloudfront.net/js/app.min.275befaba77ad321bc495dd90bfd558b.js:75

the only solution I find in the knowledge base for the former is for Macs, not Windows 7 machines. I can't find anything for the latter error. It happens A LOT. Any suggestions? I've updated Flash and Shockwave. No change

All drag-and-drop features stopped working on my FF 21.

That is, I can no longer: - Drag items to bookmarks or rearrange the bookmarks - Drag words to the search box or links to the URL box - Change the order of tabs - Rearrange items on toolbars - Move text in text boxes - etc.

Safe mode exhibits the same problems.

Please advise.
