unable to update firefox on quest side of windows XP. admin site is updated

Updated Firefox on admin side of computer running windows XP with service pack 3 when I try to update Firefox on the guest account it wont do it, gives me the error that Firefox is open somewhere else. But it not because I am logged off the admin side. Please reply. Firefox slow, not responding on some occassions.
