Has anyone successfully made att.yahoo their homepage and not had to sign in everytime Firefox opens? I have tried all posted solutions to no avail.
I see that nearly 100 people have indicated on the forum that they have experienced this same problem. I am trying to convert from IE9 to Firefox 12, but having to log into my home page every time I open up the browser isn't acceptable. It was never an issue with IE.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
- Make sure you are using the "Remember History" setting as described in this article -> Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track
- Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox
- Usernames and passwords are not saved
- Also, select Keep me signed-in or Remember Me checkboxes on your desired websites (like the ones shown in the attached screenshots below)
Check and tell if its working.
I appreciate your input, but I had already tried all of these things prior to posting my question. I just retried all of them and still no luck. Rather than automatically opening up to my personal dsl.att.yahoo.com home page, it opens to a generic one. If I click the sign in text at the top it does quickly jump to my settings, but that extra step is not only annoying, but kind of defeats the point of a home page. Again, have been using IE for years and this was never an issue there.
Are there any other ideas?
see these articles:
- Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop
- Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more
Check and tell if its working.
Thanks again mha007. I looked into both of those items and can't make it work with those either. Firefox is remembering the info, and when I click on the "sign in" link it pops right up to my settings, but this is an extra step that wasn't necessary in IE.
Also Firefox seems to be remembering my login info for other sites too. There are a number of complaints here and on other sites about this issue and the same solutions are offered but I don't see where anyone has indicated that they've got it working.
I guess I will call this a failed experiment and go back to IE, which to be honest I prefer at this point anyhow.
I just had this problem too. I hadn't logged out in months until today because I wanted to check another att email account I hardly ever use. After I did this, I had the problem where I had to click "sign in". Then I realized I just did Windows updates this past weekend. I also kept searching and found another post that suggested to go to "Tools > Options > Advanced", and disable the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option. So I unchecked that option and exited Firefox then opened Firefox and it was fixed (I had signed in before exiting). So I decided to go back into Tools and check the box to use hardware acceleration. I exited Firefox and opened it and my att.yahoo home page logged me in without me having to 'click' sign in. I hope this does it for you.
