when I try to open my online credit card account: Bad Request, Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. On the tab it says "citi 400 Bad Request"

I cannot get into my online accounts, as I have always done for years. After I select the site, the screen looks like it is working, but then a new empty window pops up: the tab says "citi 400 Bad Request" At the top of the empty screen it says: Bad Request. Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Chosen Solution

You should be able to remove any stale data by clicking on the shield icon next to the address bar when on that site, and "Clear cookies and site data…" from that protection pane.

You can also try logging in from a new Private Window to get a clean slate without any previous sessions.
