Using the RealPlayer plugin with Firefox
The RealPlayer plugin enables playback of video media through your Firefox browser. Some sites require the use of the RealPlayer plugin in order to view their content. This article describes installation and troubleshooting of the RealPlayer media plugin.

Downloading RealPlayer
To download the official version of the plugin, please visit the RealPlayer website.
Installing RealPlayer
- If you have not done so already, download the RealPlayer installer.
- Close Firefox.
- Run the setup program.
- When the installation is complete, open Firefox.

The Add-ons window will open.
- In the Add-ons Manager tabwindow, select the panel. The RealPlayer plugin should be listed as RealPlayer(tm) G2 LiveConnect-Enabled Plug-In (32-bit).
Troubleshooting
Webpages are blank after updating RealPlayer
This is caused by the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension. To fix it, disable the extension.

Cannot download videos after updating RealPlayer
This is caused by the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension. To fix it, disable the extension.

RealPlayer plugin is not recognized
If you installed RealPlayer before you installed Firefox, the plugin may not be recognized. You must copy some files to the Firefox folder.
- In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\Netscape6.
- Right-click the file nppl3260.xpt, and select .
- Go to the folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components.
- Right-click any empty space in the folder, and select .
- In Windows Explorer, go back to C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\Netscape6.
- Right-click the file nppl3260.dll, and select .
- Go to the folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins.
- Right-click any empty space in that folder, and select .
- The required files have been provided to Firefox, and the RealPlayer plugin should now load when you restart the browser.
