Animated theme stops working

After updating to Firefox 18, animated themes will no longer animate. Here's a simple workaround to fix that.

Note: This article doesn't apply to your version of Firefox.

Install the Personas Shuffler add-on to restore animated theme

  1. Go to the Personas Shuffler add-on page.
  2. Click the green Add to Firefox button and a software installation window will open.
  3. After the 3 second countdown, click Install Now.
    • The Personas Shuffler add-on will be installed and your animated theme should be animated again.

If you have more than one theme installed, this add-on will activate a new one each time you start Firefox. To switch themes, follow these steps:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox buttonOn the menu bar, click on the Tools menuAt the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.

  2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Appearance panel.
  3. Click the Enable button next to the theme you want to use.
