MacBook Pro 8,2 with OS X 10.6.8 4GB RAM 2GH Core i7 Firefox 20.0 Shockwave Flash 11.7.700.169 Hardware acceleration enabled. Flash player plugin often starts at 40% to 60% of CPU but sometimes slowly builds up to where Activity Monitor is showing close to or even over 100% of CPU effort. Processors heat up and fans run at over 4,000 RPM. Video begins to drop frames and may eventually stop. Only solution (but not good) seems to be to either kill (force-quit) the Shockwave process or quit/reopen Firefox. I suspect there may be other things using the Shockwave process elsewhere on the web page and/or on other tabs that I can't find. (Running Shockwave player in Safari seems to use much less CPU effort. Even when I play two full HD videos at the same time, it only uses 60% to 80% of CPU in Safari.) Is there another video player that I can use in place of Shockwave Flash?

When I updated to Firefox 21.0, I found that Flash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 was not working. Videos would not play. Had no problem before the Firefox upgrade. I downloaded a new copy of the player but the download would not complete. A error message (only a single instance of this application can run) appeared. I used Adobe Flash Player's uninstall to delete all Flash files. Then I tried downloading Flash 11.7.700.202 again. Same error message appeared and would not finish the download. Chrome videos work with no problem. Is there a hidden Flash file somewhere that's conflicting? Is this a Mozilla bug? I looked at all the support topics and didn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I am on Facebook, I play a few games. Eventually, my computer crashes, tries to restart, but it can't. I have to do a manual shutdown, wait about 3 to 5 minutes, then I can restart my laptop. I have everything I need to keep my pc up and running, at least I think I do. I hope you are able to help.

"1 File(s) can't be sent" error message comes up when I try to attach a file in Firefox when using att.net email. I am able to attach files without a problem in Internet Explorer. This is a fairly recent error message. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox and I still get the same problem. It works fine on my laptop in Firefox, but not on my desktop.

when i open up the browser and i put in something to search i hit enter or i use the mouse to hit search and it will not do anything but if i go to the top of the page and type in what im looking for in the tool bar it will come up so my question is why cant i search in the search box in the middle of the screen

FIrefox has been crashing many times a day. Last week it was any time I went to PayPal. This week, it is anytime I go to VerticalResponse.com

I've uninstalled, downgraded, then upgraded and restarted Firefox. Rebooted Removed flash and used the Adobe Uninstaller (so no flash currently) I do not have RealPlayer installed (as suggested by others) IE works fine

I use Outlook.com and have two accounts linked so that I can switch between the two accounts within Outlook. For some reason during the past month, it has hanging and stopping on a white screen.

I'm certain that it is connected to the main problem.

I work from home and use this computer 8+ hours a day.

Any suggestions?

I was told firefox was the proper browser to play a game on facebook. I have been using Chrome, mostly with no issues. I installed firefox, and when it said to import, I did so.

I log into facebook and it just halts. After awhile I get a message about the script that all the other support messages say with this

I say stop script and it sort of works until I go to another page or open another tab and then I get it again. O have tried to reset Firefox. I have the latest Java and I have cleared Cashe,

It works ok if I get one tab open to google.Wunderground weather works fine, but many sites have this same issue as facebook, including Amazon.

I am using W7, this is FF 21.0. Looks like the process of resetting firefox reenables whatever plug ins it installed automatically. I haven't installed any of them.

I am posting this from Chrome because of the lockups. Willing to try stuff.

Since FF has been having trouble retrieving my windows & tabs, slowing me, I tried finding the solution, so I browsed FF Help, and read about RESET.

The Mozilla Reset-Firefox article stated: "when [reset] is done, a window will list the info that was imported. Click Finish and FF will open. That's it, you're done!"

But this fails to inform me whether RESET leaves Favicons etc. etc. arranged AS IS without fooling around with their order.

So is my best bet to:

(1) Reset? (2) Disable extensions/themes? (3) Update to latest version (why? i'm happy with this version, if not for becoming slow) (4) I only seem to have a coupon printer plugin. Does that hog memory?

Formatting on several websites is incorrect. Everything loads on the left hand side one after the other. Clearing 'Everything' from the search history fixes the problem temporarily, for a very short time. I've been using Firefox for years and I've only recently been getting this problem. It's been happening on both Windows 7 and 8. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but this problem has only arose since I upgraded to fiber power broadband, 100Mb. The link below is just one of many.

I don't know whether this arises from the change of version because I very recently did a clean-up of my hard drive with Norton Utilities 16. Still, I tried making a change to the actual bookmarks, and it stuck the next time I opened.

Steps I am doing to show you folks exactly

1. 1 Click on Bookmarks
2. 2 Click on Bookmark this page
3. 3 Bookmark Menu Folder Selected
4. 4 Select Done
5. 5 Click on Bookmarks

And nothing is there.Did not create it

Unless I select a Folder that is already in my Bookmark Menu

I was working with a css file developing a website. Firefox was open for awhile and went to refresh the html page and it would not refresh. tried the clock wise arrow (did not work) forced refresh (alt+ f5) did not work, tried shift+ left mouse (did not work), tried alt +shift+ r (did not work). went as far as to uninstall Firefox and then reinstalled it, (did not work). I am at witts end. It use to work. I have a support ticket at the editor's support site waiting on answer from them incase it is my editor causing the problem. and know waiting on your reply. You will blame my editor and they will blame you and I don't know who to blame. I just know it does not work, I have checked my end, everything works in other browsers. I am having this problem just in Firefox. Do you have any suggestions on a fix for this?

Password failure when accessing email, but can go to att site directly and log in. For 2 weeks have had problems. Contacting ATT and reset passwords, I can log in on foxfire, but next day same problem. It appears to be problem with foxfire, as I can go in on ATT site. What is the fix?? So frustrated with this...........

Since updating to 21.0, Firefox has allowed 3 files from internet to be uploaded (not installed) to Firefox. This in turn removes the login name/password from all boxes that requires me to sign in. I check into the Tools>Options>Security>Saved Passwords ... they are present. I must literally sign in. This only involves Firefox. When I reset Firefox, I log in and then I am able to check "Remember Password" for this site. I can leave that site, go to another site, and these same three files seem to upload again (Norton states each and every times that they are "safe".

I have had to reset Firefox 3 times in 2 days. There seems to be an "OPEN DOOR" within Firefox. I have never had this problem before. I have used Firefox for several years.

Why is it everytime I upload the newest version of your browser everything goes to shit?

Nothing on the internet works. My e-mail won't fully load, pandora won't work properly, adobe doesn't work properly, I can't access certain websites I try to get onto when applying for jobs, and this gets worse each time you update your software.

I have a new install of fedora18 and I was trying to recover my firefox settings from a backup. The backup doesn't maintain file ownership so I ran 'chown -R john:john /home/john'. Now I can't start firefox, probably because of a file permission issue but if I remove the firefox dir and try to start firefox again it will create a new firefox dir and put a Crash Reports dir in it and then fail with an access denied error. So where is the premissions issue???

I can log in my account hotmail/Outlook with firefox mobile for a moment. It seems there is a problem with the password textbox. login is always refused. Everything with internet tools of android.
