Hi! Since I've installed Thunderbird on my new computer with Windows 11, I've now twice experienced the disappearance from my inbox of a bunch of emails. Never had this before with Thunderbird. Could it be something needs doing in Settings (I couldn't find any relevant options)? The emails weren't among the newest, but they were all important.

I have several emails (personal and business) that I use and have them grouped in Unified inbox. Recently one of those emails showed up as a new folder (just under Trash folder) in bold type. It has with a varying number of emails in it, now 18. When I click on the 'open folder arrow', a subfolder 'Archives' with nothing in it shows up. When I open the email folder a new page appears with the email as a header and underneath 'set up another account', 'import from another program', 'about mozilla thunderbird', and 'resources'. What is happening? How can I get rid of this folder since I can't read any of the emails in it and it is just a duplicate of the folder that already is working find in the inbox? TIA

As per title, when I step on a new message not belonging to the first thread, the first thread expands automatically. This does not happen when I step on an already read message. I also tried to mark old messages as unread, and the same thing happens. Apparently, it started doing this today, which sounds weird as Thunderbird last updated on the 15th, but I didn't notice this type of behavior before today.

Thunderbird version: Thunderbird Windows MSIX package 1.0 - 140.8.1esr (64 bits)

Thunderbird--All of my current year INBOX emails disappeared. I have tried repairing the folder, deleting INBOX.msf and restarting including in troubleshooting mode, reinstalled Thunderbird. None of these actions changed the situation. Is it possible to retrieve these messages?

The INBOX folder is much larger than the INBOX.msf folder, so I'm thinking the message info is in there?

I;m using Windows 10.

All my saved mails in my local archives dissappeared about one week ago, probably in connection with a system update of my Thunderbird mail box. These mails are important for me. How do I do to get them back? Best regards, Monica Biander

I have 4 email accounts with Thunderbird. When a message comes in it is posted on ALL of the accounts. What am I doing wrong? My main email address is: [edited from community support forum] @rogers.com. Kindly answer to this address. I am 83 years old and don't under stand the young way of talking.....please be specific. A few days ago I lost all of my saved email messages, plus "sent" emails, and "deleted" emails. I had important information stored there for future use. I am hoping to be able to retrieve it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I just wonder why all mails suddenly seem to be totally disappeared. Without any warning. Althoug there should be 20 mails (which figure has only been creasing for the time being/already for hours. :( Also all ready models/musters seem to be deleted. So I can't add my usual signature as easy as usuaylly:

I've tried setting up Thunderbird archiving according to the documentation to save archived messages locally, and in the same hierarchy they had when I archived them. That is, if I have:

INBOX

   Box1
   Box2

... etc. then archiving would create a parallel structure in Local Folders

However, this isn't working.

I select "Keep message archives in Other (Archives on Local Folders).

For "Archive Options" I select "A single folder", "Keep existing folder structure of archived messages" and "Recreate inbox folder".

However, when I archive something, Thunderbird just creates a folder "2026" (this year) and puts the message in there.

Why are my settings NOT working?
