In Firefox, go to Tools, Options, Security, Saved Passwords.

Look for the entry of chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password).

You will see a user name field there. Use that as the user name in Firefox Home and it will work.

Very annoying and a pain to setup on the iPhone, but at least it works. My assumption is that Firefox Home needs to update their app so that it asks for your e-mail address instead of this auto-generated user name.

This fixed it for me.

Thanks for that. I found the chrome user name and used that but Firefox Home still says "User Name not Found". Very annoying indeed. Any other suggestions?

Setting up Firefox Home on iPhone is a huge pain in the neck and the process excluded some of the steps shown in the directions. For one thing, the username is set as your email by default and I was not given an option to set my own username. I did find that following the instructions above, which involves laboriously typing a long set of characters (I couldn't find any way to copy/paste), got me past the "user name not found" error.

However, when I repeatedly attempted to enter the secret phrase or key (they use both terms, again sort of confusing), it kept getting rejected. I finally figured out that you have to eliminate the hyphens that appear in the key as shown. Once I did that, it worked.

I'm just wondering why there's nothing in any of the Firefox knowledge base articles about these two set-up peculiarities, neither of which are intuitive or easy to figure out on your own.

I tried this, but still get rejected. Ideas?

Firefox Home doesn't work with *new* Firefox Sync accounts created with Sync 1.5 (released Oct. 6, 2010). Trying to log in to Firefox Home with these accounts will result in a "Login Failure User Name Not Found" error. We know this is not ideal to say the least. This will be fixed in the next version of Firefox Home (1.0.3) which is currently waiting for approval in the App Store.

New Firefox Home users, will need to use Sync 1.4.4 which can be downloaded here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/downloads/file/96423/firefox_sync-1.4.4-fx+fn+sm.xpi?src=version-history&confirmed=1

Once you install Sync 1.4.4 you'll need to create a new Sync account and complete the initial sync again.

That's perfect, thank you so much! I suffered badly a couple of days from firefox Sync 1.5.

Firefox Home 1.0.3 is in the App Store now. This fixes all of the login issues with accounts created with Sync 1.5.

It works using 1.4.4. Thanks a lot.
