Desktop sync is broken and instructs to obtain "Your Recovery Key" from a working device. Only working device is Android Firefox. What is the magic incantation to get Firefox (v21 beta) on Android to reveal the needed sync Recovery Key?

The error messages for sync aren't useful. I don't know what the problem is, other then "it gives an error."

It has "success" and "error" together. Is it saying that success failed? The log is in yoda-speak.

What is the error here?

Does "status.sync: success.sync => error.login.reason.network" and the surrounding messages indicate that sync sucess failed? What do the other messages mean? All I see is that will try again.

I found bug 859889 on Bugzilla, I would like to develop a patch for it. In my software development class, my professor asked us to get the permission of a leading developer for our project proposal. If you can direct me to such a developer, that would be great. The dev in question should also have access to Firefox Android's code base, as to apply the patch if completed and accepted.

I'm using Firefox 18.0.2 on my several PC's and synch works fine between them. But on my Smasung Note 2 (Android 4.1.2) Firefox could never synched bookmarks from PC. However opened tabs seems to be synchronized from PC to my mobile phone. But none of mbookmay PC rks seems on my Phone. I got no error message after synch operation on my android phone. But no bookmarks synchronized.

All options including Bookmarks selected under what to synch menu. I also tried only to select bookmarks, but helped.

I'm waiting this feature to work during a few months, through different firefox PC and android releases, now as a final hope I'm contacting with you.

My synch usename is buyukbang@gmail.com and I'm using default Firefox server.

I'm sure there is a bug blocking my bookmarks to be synched to my Android Phone , I really want to help Firefox devs to fix these bug.

So my hard drive died. I cannot get to the files (at all). I synced my Mozilla bookmarks with my phone and can still view my desktop bookmarks. Anyway that I can re-sync them, or email them from my phone to my computer?

I use Sync across a desktop PC and a laptop PC. The desktop runs Vista; the laptop dual-boots Linux and WinXP. Back in the day, I initiated Sync with the desktop, then paired both Firefox installations from each of the laptop's OSes. I sync all available objects. I haven't used Firefox on the laptop/WinXP since before the issue started, and I cannot recall what version I'm at there. I have not attempted to run Firefox from the laptop/WinXP side since the issue started.

My experience has been unremarkable (good) until just a couple of days ago. On the desktop I was already at Firefox ver. 20, while on the laptop's Linux OS, I had been at FF 19.

On the laptop/Linux, I had these recent experiences just before the trouble started:

1) Operating under FF 19, Sync appeared normal. Autoupdate to ver. 20 offered but would never connect and start when selected. Abort and re-check Help->About presented a manual download link for ver. 20 instead.

2) Updated via manual download/install of ver. 20 via suggested link. No issues noticed; Sync appeared normal.

3) Unrelated activities caused me to boot Linux under a root filesystem (including /home) version from the day before I installed ver. 20, and I needed and did run FF ver. 19 again while on this filesystem. Sync _may_ have run and if so, I do not know if it was okay with going "back in time" this way. I was not paying close attention to it at the time, except to say I didn't notice anything unusual about my browsing experience.

4) With the unrelated activities handled, I resumed booting from my normal and current root filesystem, containing FF ver. 20 and my /home and profile from after the upgrade. Again, I did not notice anything obviously wrong.

Later, on the desktop system, the next sync caused all the graphics in my selected personas skin to vanish, leaving just the underlying color style. No other stored personas worked. All sync'ed items appeared to be untouched, but the problem with the personas skins alerted me to somthing being wrong. Attempts to re-sync failed.

Still later, back on the laptop/Linux, the next sync produced the same effect with the personas skins. They remain listed by name, but their source graphics (including addons list icons and text descriptions) have vanished. No other issues are apparent, and no addons or settings, etc. appear to be missing.

Re-sync attempts from either system now fail, but after retrying, indicate the problem is with the server being unavailable due to maintenance...suggesting the Sync service is having an issue, and when it comes back, this will resolve itself. Is that the case, making this just a big coincidence, or is there more going on?

I can provide the saved log files from either the desktop FF ver. 20, or the laptop/Linux FF ver. 20. I cannot provide any logs from the backup root filesystem that contained laptop/Linux FF ver. 19, as that snapshot is now gone. Also, I've not run FF (ver. ?) from the laptop/WinXP side so far during this evolution...but I could provide data and logs from there if it would help.

To day suddenly the links on all web pages do not work. Facebook I try to view more of a ad or post and it never opens to the rest of the post. To day I was visiting a real state web site and the link to switch from house info to map would not open. So smaller links on a link will not open.

Exapmple: Open web page. Find a item to look at. Click to read item and any little links inside that link will not open.

I tell FF on my computer to sync by clicking the "I have an account" box. A screen pops up with three fields with numbers and letters. I then go to the sync option in my phone where I'm supposed to enter that information, and I'm given more numbers/letters to put in my computer. I know that sometime ago I set up sync, but it isn't connecting now, and I need to know how to flush the system and start over.

I have a new laptop and numerous bookmarks I want to retreive from my desktop, I set up an account and paired the device both ways and its says synced but my laptop isn't showing the bookmarks or anything. Do you get the code from the old device and enter in the new device correct? again I did both ways because it didn't work so not sure what to do

Windows XP, Firefox, all updates. Neither Laptop or Desktop will automatically sync, I have to request sync to update bookmarks, and then I have to enter username, password, and then go find my key. I do not believe sync was intended to be so cumbersome, how do I make it run smoothly? I do cleanups regularly. Thank you.

I've had to replace my C:\ and want to pull my Bookmarks from Sync. I presume that using Sync, actually stores my Bookmarks etc. in the cloud somewhere, so how do I go about pulling them back down out of the cloud to sync with my "new" computer?

I've also upgraded the OS from Win XP to Win 7

I created a sync account on my old laptop 3 weeks ago. I got a new laptop this week and I'm trying to get all of my old bookmarks and passwords. I am trying to sync the new laptop, but it isn't pulling in anything from the old account. I don't have a recovery key. Is there anything I can do?

I set up Sync on a Linux Mint os. I had to go back to Windows 7 os. Once I set up Firefox on the new os, I tried to recover the data from Sync, but I couldn't access it. I have my Recovery Key.

I had to format my HDD and reinstall everything. Previously I had set up Firefox Sync so I could retrieve all my bookmarks and whatnot. When I put in the 3 part code to retrieve said data, it gives me an error saying "Please try again." No error code or explanation, just that. Originally, the servers were having issues so I decided that was the issue. But now that the servers are in normal condition, it still gives me the same error.

Hi, I followed the instructions to alter security to allow downloads from this site, but the box is still inert. Nothing happens when I click on "allow" or "x" to close it. I already restarted the computer. I'm trying to install firefox on my iPhone 4S. Thanks.
