Shockwave Flash plugin can use nearly 100% of CPU to play video; MacBook gets hot & slows down.

MacBook Pro 8,2 with OS X 10.6.8 4GB RAM 2GH Core i7 Firefox 20.0 Shockwave Flash 11.7.700.169 Hardware acceleration enabled. Flash player plugin often starts at 40% to 60% of CPU but sometimes slowly builds up to where Activity Monitor is showing close to or even over 100% of CPU effort. Processors heat up and fans run at over 4,000 RPM. Video begins to drop frames and may eventually stop. Only solution (but not good) seems to be to either kill (force-quit) the Shockwave process or quit/reopen Firefox. I suspect there may be other things using the Shockwave process elsewhere on the web page and/or on other tabs that I can't find. (Running Shockwave player in Safari seems to use much less CPU effort. Even when I play two full HD videos at the same time, it only uses 60% to 80% of CPU in Safari.) Is there another video player that I can use in place of Shockwave Flash?

The Logitech mouse is a Logitech Anywhere MX Dark Field with Logitech Control Center for Mac OS X v3.6.0. I'm using Firefox 20 in Mac OSX 10.6.8. The problem has only been detecting after updating the browser to version 20. I have not customized the Back key on the mouse for any other function other than returning to previous page. Same configuration and Control Center version was being used before with Firefox previous versions without any issues.

I responded to a Firefox email which resulted in my changing my theme by mistake. I wanted to change it back. That was about three hours ago. I tried to login to my account using the username, email and password I had written down for Firefox. They weren't recognised. I asked for a password reset. No email arrived on either of my email accounts. I checked the junk folders. I requested to register a new account on Firefox. I was told an email would be sent. No email has arrived. All I want to do is change the theme back to what it was because I can't read my tabs or horizontal menu items because of the colour scheme. I've read several troubleshooting suggestions but none seem to properly apply.

I just installed Firefox 21. I do not see the Clear History item in the Tools menu any more. Is there any way to get that back? I prefer to have easy voluntary control over clearing the history and other data. Why did the developers not set the item in the Privacy panel to ask first before clearing anything, the way it did before?

When I open the Firefox application, I almost always get an error page that says:
"Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. You can try:
Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem
Starting an entirely new browsing session"
Since before quitting Firefox I always go to "Tools —> Clear Recent History…" and have ALL the items checked when I click OK, there is no page to restore so Firefox shouldn't be having a problem. And yet…there's that window AGAIN!
This started after the last update you provided.

We have a staff computer that was recently used to check a hotmail account, this is against our company policy. The hotmail account owner says she didn't log into her account through the office computer as she wasn't even in that day. Is there any way for us to verify the length of time that she was or was not visiting this site? As our computer's history clearly shows that the hotmail account was visited. Any help would be most appreciated. Is there a way to lock company computers so that only work sites can be visited?

I used "Show package contents" to open Firefox.app, and I see a Firefox icon named "updated". Can I just delete this, or will it also remove Firefox entirely? If so, can I get my old version of Firefox back? Until I can figure out how to not install this update, I won't restart Firefox. Thanks!

I want to permanently unpin and remove a tab, but the pinned tab keeps opening whenever I restart Firefox.
I accidentally pinned a tab. Now every time I open Firefox it is there, even if I unpin and close, or just close the tab and restart the browser.

Opening PDF's outside of the browser is not an option for me. I specifically need the Adobe Reader plug-in to function, allowing me to open (and more importantly) edit PDF's in Firefox for a reason. Whenever I download/open in Reader, I am unable to save my changes or data entered into form fields. Typically I open the PDF on the website I use for work (Form Simplicity) and edit the form fields there, save it on the site, and then email it from the site for eSignatures. If I can't save the information put into the PDF then it defeats the whole purpose of trying to keep the process electronic, rather than on paper. Please help me find a solution. I have uninstalled ALL BROWSERS, Adobe Reader, Flash, run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleanup tool just in case I had left-overs from a CS5 trial, and reinstalled everything from scratch. Problem still remains. Is it simply the fact that I'm using a Mac?
Tried 5 times. Unable to download the update.
After clicking on "update" it shows process bar moving but nothing happens.
