I downloaded version Firefox 20.0 and copied the file from downloads into Applications choosing to replace the older version then re-booted my mac. Now I seem to have version 8.0 and 20.0 and when I click firefox icon (the round global one) it selects the older version clearly the new download did not replace the old one.

How do i sort this please.

I have been playing on king.com for years. Now I can't and can't play at other sites that I've tried. King.com sent me an e-mail saying to reinstall my browser without any add ons, as well as their ActiveX control, which I can do by deleting the old version. They also suggest reinstalling the latest version of Flash. I don't know how to reinstall firefox, ActiveX or flash. Can you help please?

  I could not find features request page hence  here.

I know Firefox  can disable plugins and also it can stop  loading  the images,  but , it takes too much time to search in the options and set it for every page i need.... my issue is e.g. by looking email and all  commercial trash popping around that wastes  my PC resources and electricity.
Opera has this options since ages and the main reason why i use it .

In Toronto we can play podcasts from CBC [cbc.ca] or get Sudoku pop-ups from thestar.com, but when visiting the US (where we are now) we cannot do either. I tried reloading Flash and Real player, and that worked for one day. But now we still can't get either, yet we have no trouble getting them with Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. So the problem is specific to Firefox. Any suggestiions about what to do, other than switching to Google or Explorer?

Had firefox installed and today while trying to turn off computer it reacted differently. Kept turning on and off. Earlier was on MSN and jumped to another page and started showing alot of info on showtimes on MSN. Wondered if my firewall was still on.

Firefox from one minute to the next crashed. Everytime I opened it up, it became unresponsive. Never an error message, just a pure freeze. The CPU does not go into overdrive. I did a complete uninstall. Created a new profile. As soon as i closed my session, the problem persisted. Even in safe mode, the application freezes completely within 1-3 seconds. I click on bookmarks; the drop down menu opens; I click on a bookmark; it opens in less than a quarter screen occupying 2 vertical inches on the left side of my screen. I can scroll from the left to right via the task bar at the bottom of this screen but there are no visible icons for simply enlarging this screen. Very annoying!

I believe I picked this up downloading a font....This search bar loads as a tab at start-up I cant find an uninstall process any where in FF add ons or windows programs (uninstall). I've even "removed" it from the "manage search engines, it still reappears.......

When I go to fullscreen mode, all my bookmarks disappear. When I minimize the window, they reappear.

My question is: How do I keep my bookmarks ontop/displayed so that when I'm in fullscreen mode, I don't have to minimize the window to click on a bookmark then go back to fullscreen mode.

The autohide mode during fullscreen I do not mind just the issue with my bookmarks disappearing during fullscreen mode

Wanted to let you nice people know who tried to help me that Java put up another new update (gee, I wonder why?) and after several installs and removal of older Java, it finally took. Everything matches in my computer where it's supposed to be except for one thing. Someone who had earlier answered my question told me to go to the Java homepage and test there to see what version I had. After Java properly installed and plug-in page and my add-on page and my installed programs all jived, I went to Java to just check if it reflected my new version and it doesn't. It bounces to a page saying why Java isn't working. Well, duh. I have news for it, I have it done. I think these things are done to drive us crazy. LOL! Anyway, just wanted to let you know the latest and thanks!

Mozilla Plug-in page showed Java was outdated and needed updating. I did do that but the plug-in page still shows Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.90.5 10.9.2.5 & Java (TM) Platform SE 7U9 10.9.25 as being outdated. But when I go to my add-on page and check my plug-ins, those are both showing up as being installed and enabled and the date I updated them on which was today 12/12/12. Also I went to www.java.com to check what the latest version was and when you click on downloads it automatically checks to see if you are running the current version and it says I am running the latest version. I even went and uninstalled some old java updates that I forgot to remove in my programs. Should I just ignore the *outdated* plug-in reminders for those two on Mozilla's plug-in page since everything else is telling me I did it correctly? Thing is, how do I know when there is a new update if those two never update and consistently show they are outdated? Thanks to anyone that may be able to answer this question.

I recently changed to a wide screen monitor, hoping to use it to view multiple windows at one time. Now, however, the windows are just really wide. I tried to change the window size, but then I just ended up having to use a horizontal scroll bar-- which is really inconvenient for me. So, can I change the window settings so they just don't fill my whole screen? I'm not super computer savvy. Thanks for helping!

Cannot move bookmarks wherever I want. They are stuck in alpha order. When I move one it goes back to alpha order. I would like to be able to move them manually in any order.

for many days when i click on update firefox - critical etc. the screen bar never stops - i left for an hour and it still did not install the update(s) i have unexplained mini crahses and wonder if it is perhaps this critical update that won't update on my computer 64 bit windows 7 4 gig ram 750 had drive lenovo about a year old machine
