When I use FF 4.0b7 on my Mac I try to go to a website using flash (YouTube, Hulu, etc.) and it doesn't display anything. No video, nothing. But when I use FF 3.6.12 any website using flash works just fine! I've reinstalled Firefox and flash many times over, to no avail. Flash also works in other browsers, just not Firefox 4..

I am trying to visit the web page in firefox 4.0 beta 7, the page can't open, and some times it taken very long time to take to open the site, but as the same time I try to open it with my chrome browser(beta version) and explorer 8. The site is open quickly in Google Chrome(beta version), opened in explorer (but not fast as chrome). I have huge problem with adobe flash player crash on youtube. I have the newest flash player and firefox 4 b7. I cant fix it, i have tried to reinstall flash and firefox but nothing, youtube still crashes. Can you please help me

Found the status bar at bottom of page very useful. Its now missing. How can I tell the downloading progress and more importantly if a page is a secure site? Live in a rural area with slow internet service and both download speed and security is very important to me. Security is VERY important, as do a lot of banking and bill paying on line. Saw someplace in questions and answers that the "Status Bar" was dropped in version 4. It was working for me up through 4.0 Beta 4, but not in Beta 7. If I missed the news please let me know and also how do I tell if on a "secure" page now? Is there an "add on" that will give me the "Status Bar" back?

My search bar has never worked. Not when I had Firefox 3... and not now. I had to add a google toobar, in order to be able to search. This made Firefox very wide and ugly looking. I didn't like it and so I don't want to add it again, now that I have Firefox 4. Please help! I go to add search engines, but they just don't appear when I add them. Why is this?

Whenever I try to open Bengali unicode webpages, Firefox freezes and fails to respond. I have to kill the browser and restart it. This problem seem to have been in a number of webpages all having unicode. I have not tried with other language unicode webpages though. I am using MacOSX 10.5 and Firefox 4.0b7. Some of the affected websites are http://bn.wikipedia.org, www.sachalayatan.com, www.amarblog.com, etc.

The affected webpages load perfectly well on Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions.

I've tried using the "alt" thing, customizing the toolbar (there's no reload button to add), and resetting all toolbars in safe mode. It's still not visible to me. I also have no "stop" button (to stop a page from loading once it's started). the only button that I can see is the Home button. I can add other things to the toolbar, but not these essential buttons.

I unable to see what I´m doing the same happens for all tabs and menus, it but the issue still persists, this is in a desktop with window 7. Don´t really know what to do. had to go back to previews version. its hard to troubleshoot when everything is black and you can´t see the buttons.

I want to change the search engine that firefox default home using, because when i'm searching for something in the home, firefox always using ask.com, i want to change it by google.com

If I enter a non numeric character (\) in one of the boxes, the box gets outlined in red and when I hover the cursor there is a message saying "Please match the requested format". This did not happen in 3.6 and is very distracting so I would like to know if it is an option that can be turned off.

Some time ago and in an apparent "instant", Firefox stopped saving/getting/accepting/etc downloads from the www. It isn't sporadic, site-size based...the problem is 100% consistent.

Everything appears to happen as it should. Prompts, help windows, even the final DOWNLOADS window appears.

2 clues: 1) I am never aksed WHERE I want to save the download. 2) Although the DOWNLOADS window appears, including the correct name of the attempted download file; the "resolution" is almost instantaneous...as if the connection/download/etc never actually happens.

NO...the download file is not being stored in some hidden or unknown folder....it, simply, isn't happening.

Ideas? I really don't like IE, but am being forced to use it!

I can use the stable versions of Firefox without any problems, but whenever I use Firefox 4 (regardless of the build) my proxy settings revert to manual mode and automatically select 127.0.0.1 as my preferred proxy IP. I do not and have never used a proxy, so I don't know why Firefox 4 thinks that I would. I have to change this every time I open Firefox 4 and it's becoming tired and cumbersome. How can I fix this to stay "no proxy" by default?

I've totally tricked out my Firefox 4's appearance like this. Did it with a bunch of addons and about 4-5 Stylish styles (note: The add-on bar auto-hides).

Problem is, when I start the browsers, sometimes the settings seem to have changed: the bookmarks go back to the bookmarks bar, the awesomebar goes beside the navigation and home buttons, tabs go bottom, and worst of all, going to customize shows all the add-on buttons missing, like the StumbleUpon one in the upper-right.

I've saved a copy of the localstore.rdf with the settings I want, and whenever the above problem happens, I overwrite it. If it happens again, I double-overwrite the file and it gets ironed out. Thing is, I don't know when the problem is going to come up, and what, if anything, is causing it.

I'd like it if the settings in the localstore.rdf were frozen and didn't change unless I specifically made any changes to it (from Firefox). Any ideas? I tried read-onlying the file while using Firefox, but it seemed to remove the read-only tag when I checked it later. Will try it again if anyone thinks it works.

when I click on the download button it seems to start connecting for about 2 seconds, then it just stops & won't do anything. Every time I try, the same thing happens. I have also noticed on a couple of other sites I have downloaded from before that the same thing happens-downloads don't start at all.

When using logmein to access my office computer from home, I sometimes must launch Firefox to complete some downloads needed for work. Upon launch, only the top bar is visible, the website is not. Only if Firefox is run in safe mode will it complete the loading of a site. Firefox has no problems launching from work when I am here.

I know the status bar was removed and an and on bar replaces it but Where did the Secure Site Icon go ? Will not use FF without it !

I cant find anything about it. ( FF 40b7 ) How do I get it back ? Not so little things like this will hurt FF. And YES I understand this is beta but come on guys/gals this is IMPORTANT ! I probably just missed something stupid but I could use some help please.

I am trying to populate my Firefox bookmarks with my bookmarks from Safari. Is there a quick fix or do I have to keep going back to Safari?

PS: I am NOT a computer geek just an old guy trying to simplify my life!

Is there anyway to get an App Tab to stay when I close the program then reopen it?...they always disappear when I open a new window etc.

And I thought the whole point of an App Tab was to always have those tabs there no matter what window is open all the time period.

It's a minor complaint but I would really appreciate the option to permanently have them there.

Silverlight plug-in does not works in FireFox 4 - beta 7 ( Mac OS 10.6.6 ) !!!! I don't have any installed Extensions except "Better GReader" and "Video Helper" !!! I have problem with Seesmic.com and installing applications that required Silverlight ! I installed latest version of Silverlight many times. Please help me. (I don't have any problem with Safari or other Web Browser.)
