Hi,

The new firefox 20 is a recommended PC requirement on a p4 and 512mb.. I have an Pentium 4, and ive tested some of the new versions but theyr really shiit compared to 3.6.28 wich im still using.. The new firefox is running 140mb memory more then the one im using in a Game through the web. It annoys me alot, but still ill like to have an upgraded version due to security etc.

Can someone recommend me the best / fastest version for a very slow PC?

Firefox appears to working normally. However during the last two weeks I am getting a crash report everytime I exit Firefox normally. There doesn't appear to be any problem - just thye constant crash reports.

When I am browsing I frequently close my browser to terminate my browsing by clicking on the "X" in the top right-hand corner. The expected result is the browser session is immediately closed.

have come across a large number of sites that capture this and then force me to answer a series of questions while preventing the normal close of the Firefox browser application. Is there any way to cause Firefox to ignore additional instructions when I select the close-button and just close? What I am experiencing is an abuse of how the program was designed to work. I won't elaborate on that unless someone really doesn't understand--I'll just stick to the facts.

I'm running a variety of Firefox on multiple systems, mostly Linux but 2 Windows boxes. I have 1 linux system running Firefox 3.6 and most of the others are on Firefox 19. If more details about version, os, or hw are required please let me know. On all platforms I experience the same issue.

When I click help about mozilla firefox it tells me version 3.6.11. When I go into troubleshooting information it tells me on extensions Ubuntu Firefox Modifications version 0.9rc2. What does that mean, do I still have 3.6.11 ? I would like to run firefox 20 ! I don't see anywhere that I am running 20, how can I tell if I got firefox 20, tried installing 20 seems it's not upgrading ?

I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 on my computer. But a message keeps coming while I use Firefox saying "You may want to upgrade your browser. You're using an old version of Firefox that is no longer supported and may be insecure. To upgrade, open Firefox's Help menu and click Check for Updates..." But when I open Firefox's help menu, I can't see "check for updates" to click. What should I do?

I am hoping someone more intelligent than me, can help me out here, as I've got a really infuriating problem.

I tend to visit a lot of online forums, especially in recent days those at Sky (http://helpforum.sky.com/) and Vodafone (http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/)

Whenever I log in, and try and post a message, I keep getting a very annoying error message that says:

"Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied."

The problem is, I never use ANY HTML code, as I don't know what it is. I do use spaces, capital letters, standard punctuation marks, and carriage returns/paragraph breaks. This problem doesn't manifest itself on Internet Explorer, nor Opera, nor Chrome.

So what's going on please?!

After opening a second tab I cannot open first tab any more. The same happens after opening with the third tab. Then i can not open first two tabs. There after all new tabs can be opened and back to third and fourth tab is ok.

U auto-updated my browser last Thursday?, it also sent a virus & now I can not boot my computer. Can not access the internet. Also my operation disc-repair is being blocked by your program. I was able to get in briefly yesterday..and uninstalled Firefox..it worked beautifully with Explorer..Then I reinstalled Firefox and it continuously crashed..and now it will not boot, and repair is blocked by your program. Since I got Outlook Express I am not satisfied with it since I cannot go to all of my contacts like before and select them for sending e mails. I have problem in typing a message as well. If any mistake occurs you cannot go back and correct it. Instead you have to use back space and delete all you have written so far and start all over it again. Please restore the old System. Thanks!

Firefox 3.6.28 OS 10.4.11 Ibook G4

Hi,

I back up regularly both as .json and as .html. With the .json back up, I remove the date each time I back up so there's an over-write and there's only one .json back up file in my Backup Folder.

I've never had to import bookmarks back into Firefox, but I've had a crash that's wiped out my Firefox bookmarks in the Firefox program where I kept the bookmarks in a very carefully indexed system of categories and menus that dropped down from the toolbar.

When I import .json or .html back into Firefox, will my menubars re-set to the way I had them? I remember from a long time ago using Safari, I restored backed up favorites, and what I got was a long list of titled links which wasn't anything like the way I'd set the favorites up in the first place. I hope I don't get the restoration like that this time with Firefox. In addition, when I press 'Import' from the file menu, I'm only given the option of importing from Safari. That's not what I want to do. I have "Backups" in a designated folder in my Documents in the Finder and that's where I need to pull them from.

There's something about "Profile" regarding Firefox that I've not known about that may have been something I needed to do in relation to Bookmarks.

I would appreciate any help you could provide to help me my bookmarks back in place.

PS Regarding "Troubleshooting Information". I had to do it manually because the function doesn't support my veersion of Firefox.

I don't see an "empty box above this text." The box above isn't empty. It contains my question.

So the following don't make sense because I already Pasted below.

   * Look at the top of your screen, and click the menu item called Edit.
   * A small box will open. Click on the item called Paste. Alternatively, type Ctrl+V or Command+V.
   * Some text will appear in the empty box.

IE allows me to drag address bar to another location (up to menu bar or down). I am assuming this it NOT possible in Firefox? Please confirm.

P.S. I'm using Firefox 3.6.12. Cannot upgrade because I'm on dial-up and my web booster does not support later versions of Firefox.

hai. i need help. and just for heads up, i;m not computer/tech savvy.

i dont remember when this problem was started (maybe around 2 or 3 months ago) but everytime i opened some sites, the page displayed for a while then it reload itself and shown a blank page. the link is still the same with the link i tried to access, it just keep loading and shown blank page till it stop loading. refreshing the page wont help. usually i need to click 'Back' then while it shown the page i click 'X' to stop the page loading, so i can see the page.

but if i need to download files, stopping the page wont make me able to downloaded the files since the page didnt fully loaded.

the websites i encountered this was (so far) :

- Indowebster (download page)

- wiki.d-addicts.com (a wikipedia kind of page)

- photobucket (just encountered this today)

- and 1 or 2 other sites, i forgot.

but i can access all those sites just fine with IE. I also able to access it in Mozilla thru my work computer. at first this dint really bother me as i can just click 'stop loading page' or found another download sites for downloading. but as today i experienced it with photobucket 9which as far as i know didnt happened before) it made me worry that soon i would experiencing this with another sites too.

editted to add info :

i already clear cache and cookies. also disable all extensions in my add-ons. from some discussion page, many of them found that this was caused by Real-Player. i have uninstalled Real Player and have disabled the Real Player Plugins long before this problem occured. so i dont think Real Player was the caused.

Had just downloaded newest version of Firefox. Came back to screen later, and it was showing "Fox Save" I believe. Is that firefoxes screen saver? I clicked on all the icons below trying to get out of that screen and finally had to press control, alt, delete to get out.,
