My browser will not upgrade. Firefox tells me I am using an older version. I have clicked on the upgrade it downloads but nothing seems to happen after that. I know just enough to make me dangerous as far as the computer goes. So I am stuck with an old version. I have looked in my control panel and Firefox 9.0.1 is listed as of 12/30/11...yet my browser still tells me I am using 3.5 I don't know what to do, Please help me to fix this.

My new laptop (still waiting for delivery) will have Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I've read on this site that it's okay to use Firefox, even though it's designed for 32 bit, but I'm not sure how to transfer my bookmarks.

I've taken a look at the sync add-on. Unfortunately, this has been removed by its developer.

Does anyone know how I can transfer the bookmarks to the new laptop?

I keep trying to download newest version of Firefox but when I try to move it into applications I get the error message that I cannot do this because "I do not have sufficient privelelges" and then I can go no further. I do not know any more. The educatd guesses below are correct. Using a Mac This happens on my other Mac as well

A warning pops up and says that Firefox is no longer protected, and that I need to upgrade. But then, I'm told that the upgrades are not compatible with my computer. What does this mean, and how to I get the updates?

Hi. I keep try to update/upgrade to the new firefox version 8. whatever and in downloads but stops the process there...i am apparently using version 3.5.3....obviously a very ols version. What do I do?

I updated/installed 8.0.1 a month ago, (had 3.5. 0 or 1 can't remember) and under HELP in the top toolbar, About Firefox, said I have 8.0.1. Today, Sunday 12/18/11 tried updating something (forget what) and it said I have old version and need to update…which I did from Mozilla site, and Mozilla still says I have an older version, and that I need to update to 8.0.1 after once again doing so.

  I put "Everytime Firefox is opened" coz it still says I have 8.0.01

I'm running firefox 3.something, I think, and I keep trying to install the latest version on my mac. I go through saving it, opening it, dragging the icon to my apps file...and when I drag it to my apps file it takes a few seconds to do *something*, pings at me and then...nothing after that. I try to open it and it tells me I have to close firefox first, so I do (restart even) and when it opens again it still opens the old version.

my computer is running extremely slow and freezes on a regular basis, I want to delete the temp files but I'm not certain where I need to go to complete this task. Someone else loaded Firefox onto my computer, I do not know my password so some of the functions needed, where do I go to access my passwords.

I get messages from gmail, Pandora, and Firefox that my browser is outdated but when I upgrade to version 8.0.1 I still get the messages. No one seems to recognize the upgrade.

On Firefox, what do I do to pull up anything on the internet. Every time I put in anything, the Firefox says that I put it into the computer wrong. Not so. I can open Internet Explorer and get the information.

Recently downloaded Firefox 7 and all worked well until Pandora Radio came out with new version which doesn't work in Firefox 7. Is there a newer version of Firefox that will solve this problem?

My issue began after I had a "Blue Screen of Death" on my laptop. Since then, all of my internet settings aren't correct and Firefox does not load for several minutes (longest was 30 min). All of my bookmarks and tabs were gone when I finally got Firefox to open. I just tried to (Ctrl + Shift + B), all my bookmarks were there, however when I tried to import them, nothing happened and they've disappeared. Prior to Ctrl+Shift+B I had reloaded a previous version of Firefox. Yesterday I loaded the current version...still no help to my bookmarks/settings.
