Firefox V18 is installed on a laptop running Windows XP, & has suddenly stopped working, after working ok since being installed. It now displays a blank page when you click on the homepage icon, plus entering a url brings up the word connecting, in the tab, but then displays a blank page with the words new tab in the tab at the top of the page. IE works ok, as does a portableapps copy of firefox 3.5.17.

I have tried re-installing V18.0.1, with no success, I have even tried uninstalling firefox, deleting all remaining folders & running a registry cleaner to see if their was anything causing the install to fail. Firefox still fails to work after all this.

The laptop has been kept uptodate with regards to upgrades, & I have tried doing a system restore to earlier breakpoints, but with no success. Any ideas? TIA

TalkingPointsMemo and Anchorage Daily News changed to Disqus for their comments system. Suddenly I can't see the comments. I contacted TPM and enabled cookies and third party cookies, etc. per their tech person. Still doesn't work unless I start in safe mode. I was using Firefox 3.6 and tried uninstalling and going back to 3.5. Installed and uninstalled several programs, etc. Nothing works. It works in IE8 and Google Chrome so I cannot figure it out. Any clues?

I am logging on to a website and I have a user ID that is case sensitive and cannot be changed My home computer keeps putting the first letter in as a capital how do I get it to allow me change it to the correct case and allow me to enter the site- this is a faculty web site Thanks

I upgraded my browser. I used Mozilla firefox. Ever since then my tool bar does not work. say if I wanted to go to www.facebook.com. I type in the web address and it will not even go to the site, or the drop down menu

I do not want to submit to this page. I do not want to do anything with the bookmarks toolbar.

I want to see all my bookmarks. I can't. Your predefined choices take up 1/10 of my space. I know a team of highly paid professionals has already determined what is best for me and what I really want and need, but I can't help but think if I do not want to submit to this page that I should be able to remove that stupid waste of space. But it appears you wont let me.

I bet your answer will be "you can see all of your bookmarks by hovering your mouse cursor over the arrow at the bottom of the list of bookmarks".

Downloaded firefox-8.0.tar.bz2 from getfirefox.com, unpacked, but Firefox 8.0 doesn't start:

I already have Firefox 3.6 installed as part of Fedora 12 and it works fine, but it's too old for some websites.

On an acer aspire one firefox will not open. It thinks that firefox is already running and says close program or restart but retarting does not clear problem. Firefox is not running as far as I can make out by checking processes that are runnin. Not that good with linux though so dont know what else to check.

I persist in receiving the message that other copies of Firefox are running and so the new one cannot be installed. This happens even when I make sure that no copies on this shared computer are running. Computer is an iMac.

i recently upgraded my version of mozila without any fallbacks, but still get the remark "Your version of Firefox is no longer protected against online attacks. Get the upgrade - it’s fast and free! "

when i type something in my search bar at the top right of the page and hit enter or click on magnifying glass, nothing happens. it doesn't matter what search engine i select. can you help?

Question You have conficting info about the new Firefox; the info and system requirements are for version 3.5.19 but the download is for 4.01. Will version 4.01 work on a mac PPC running OSX 4.11?

With Firefox 3.5.?? when I start an URL over an Oracle application via JInitiator 1.3.1.26 (or other versions) everything works well.

Using Firefox 3.6.?? when I start the same URL, nothing happens. With or without the plugin installed (Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.26 or other versions).

Tonight, when I loaded my browser, all my web pages came up without any background color- primarily just text on the same default system color background for all pages- this is fine for some simple pages, cause they load faster, but other pages like Facebook for example, I lose some of the graphical page elements, and that's not good! I'm not sure how this happened- all my pages going kinda `text only' (not totally- some foreground pictures load), and I'm not sure how to change it back- please help! I'm using 3.5.15 on a P4 tower.

I am running Firefox 3.5.15 from my U3 drive, but can no longer do updates. Is there a manual procedure for updating the Firefox install, or do I have to use something like Package Factory for U3, and do a full package install?

Hi friends, My site is hosting on Linux server. In this, some PDF file navigation link are given, It works in IE browser not in Other browsers. Can the issue of case-sensitive of link name?

when I add a new bookmark it only lists in recently bookmarked and then will drop off when limit is reached. I have mozilla 3.5.1 this started happening after I accidently upgraded. I would like my bookmarks to go into the regular list. I am using xp pro.
