Recently, I noticed that when I tried to paste Asian characters (Japanese or Chinese, I don't speak Korean so I haven't tried it) that it would freeze Firefox and I would have to forcefully end the process.
I thought perhaps it was because I recently (within the last few days) updated to Firefox 4.0, so I uninstalled it, and reinstalled the last one I had an installer for (3.5.1). That didn't solve the problem either, and now I'm noticing that I cannot copy Asian characters from within Firefox either. Not only does it crash the program itself, but the data never actually gets entered into the clipboard!

Hi,
I am developing a web app using General Interface web toolkit. It makes heavy use of selectSingleNode and selectNodes. I am on Firefox 3.5.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit. There is another guy on the general interface forum with the same problem as me on Ubuntu 10.04 and Firefox 3.6.10. But a commiter on general interface on Kubuntu 10.04 and Firefox 3.6.13 does NOT get this problem. Below is my exception, running in -safe-mode with everything turned off.
As an aside, I have Firefox to update to the latest 3.6, but it always remains on 3.5.1, no idea why.

My website has been running for many months, and as part of the site users can upload PDF documents to share with others. The last successful upload was 5th Nov, but to-day my upload was rejected because Firefox returned the document type as application/force-download rather than application/pdf. Uploads work fine with IE8.
The site uses PHP to check extension and document type and, as I mentioned, has worked fine for many months. I have even attempted to upload the same document that succeeded on the 5th, but again Firefox returns application/force-download as the document type.
Why the change?
some sites give text on top of text
some web sites print text on top of other text. hard to read.

I have a Javascript function that requests data from a URL. The returned data is in text format and is this comma separated string:
Normal,100,Bad,Good,142,Bad,Good,100,Bad,Bad
which is exactly what I am looking for.
I use the string.split method to separate it into its component parts. However, Firefox says there is a syntax error with this string. At least that's what the error console says:
Error: syntax error Source File: http://192.168.0.2/m3_main Line: 1, Column: 1 Source Code: Normal,100,Bad,Good,142,Bad,Good,100,Bad,Bad
That's pretty cryptic, and I can't see any reason why it is not being accepted. By the way, this works perfectly in IE7. Any ideas?

I was using Firefox 3.6 , and am using Windows Vista 64 bit with Flash 10.0.22.87. Every time a window (File explorer , some media player or another application) appears on top of Firefox 3.6 window and if I am dragging this other window (file explorer or some another application) with the mouse around the Firefox browser window, the input focus will be lost to the Firefox window. So if I drag a window explorer window and move it around in front of the Firefox window, Firefox steals the input focus and the mouse will be pointing at the browser instead.
This happens all the time. I tested my trackball and is functional. I have no problems with other application on top of others and dragging it as described above.
I downgraded Firefox to 3.5.1 and the problem is gone.

Never had an iota of a problem with desktop only laptop. Even with addons and Adobe installed. Desktop running 2006 version of XP with SP3 added last week. Laptop running 2008 version of XP with SP3 added in 2008.
After install when click to start HD light goes on for 2 secs and off and nada. Second try gets blip and then nada. Restart gets same start pattern..
I think it is an auto security setting in XP Home but no idea what.

It's pretty frustrating searching for this, because I inevitably land on the relevant Mozilla page, or other sites linking to it, only to find the Download link leads to nowhere!
Can't the last version be made available, (naturally without support)?
I cannot be the only person that doesn't want to discard a perfectly functional PC.
Anyway: Rant over.
I want to emphasize I am looking for the complete suite. I already have the last Mozilla browser, but without a mail client. I have an old Thunderbird, but it has silly bugs.
Thanks!
