When some particular sites are visited, multiple proxy authentication prompts are received. After canceling these pop-up windows the page can be finalized visited, we have observed that this issue is happening when Adobe Flash player is involved.

This has been an intermittent issue over the last months, however there is a site that can be used to reproduce the problem.

Google chrome and IE are not affected

My motherboard was recently changed.previous to that my desktop had the private browsing feature in firefox.but after the change, the tools feature does not have private browsing settings. it only has "clear private data" setting.now how do i create a private bbrowsing setting?

recently i had to change my motherboard.previous to that firefox on my desktop had this feature.however,after this change,the tools feature does not have private browsing .however it has "clear recent history" feature.how can i install this feature again.?

I was downloading the new version of Firefox and I thought it was done and I went to step 2 only to discover it was still downloading. Now it has stopped 3/4 of the way. I hit the "click here" button to restart but nothing is happening.

Over the last few days Gmail has begun malfunctioning. The buttons (forward, move etc.) have stopped working, and when attempting to reply to messages the error 'cannot load rich text editor' appears. This fault is duplicated on two separate macs and does not appear in Safari.

The machine is a SLES11 running on x86_64 architecture. Firefox is version 3.0.6 (from the SLES11 installation DVD). I have installed jre-6u25 under /usr/java. I have restarted Firefox after the installation. No Java plugin shows up under Tools/Add-ons/Plugins.

What do I need to do to make it show up?

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8. Firefox 3.0.6 is installed. When I try to update I get a message saying that I do not have sufficient priviledges to complete part of the operation. I take that to mean a folder containing part of the application Firefox is read only rather than read and write. I know how to change that but I've looked at the obvious Firefox folder but don't know where else to look for the offending folder.

I am using Firefox 3.0.6 Open a new tab button doesn't appear on the right of my last tab and I need to use CTRL+T every time to open a new tab. Why or how can make this button appear?

I cannot open a new tab with ctrl + T, or by double clicking or by right clicking, i was using 3.6.18 before when i started facing this problem, than i uninstalled the firefox and reinstalled Firefox - 3.0.6, still the issue has not been resolved, i need help asap as cannot work without new tabs.

we followed the directions on the uninstall firefox web browser page. including the part where you go to the uninstall folder on the c: drive and use the helper application to uninstall firefox. this does not work because a popup box displays an error message saying "can't initialize plugin please try again later." we tried restarting the computer and redoing all these exact steps again only to get the same problems and error messages.

I've been using Flock, but they've quit supporting it, so now I need to pick a new browser and import my bookmarks from Flock; I have 3.06. When I searched help for how to import bookmarks, I got a bunch of stuff about how 4.0 doesn't import, but didn't see anything about how it works in 3.06. Thanks.

Using pref.js or a pac file suggests that firefox will only load settings when it opens. I would like to manipulate settings from an external program, and have firefox reload them instantly when I change them.

I have an external application and with it i want to change proxy settings and have firfox use them instantly.

Can this be accomplished? From the registry maybe...?

I have tried to create a bookmark for any site and it gives it a different address. Most of the time it is a previous address that I have visited and not the current address. The address in the window is for the current address when I do it.

Web pages saved with Firefox can't be opened from my file manager (Thunar/VectorLinux) with Firefox. Why is this? I can open them with Opera and other browsers but not Firefox.

I no longer have a location or address bar. When I type in a location or web address it will not take me there. Also, when using Firefox I can no longer go back a page or forward. Can you help me with this problem, please? This a Mac OS X.
