I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks, now, and I've run out of ways to try and fix this.

One day, after starting my computer up, I opened Firefox. No big deal, everything looks fine, tabs are working, etc. Then, when I went to open a second window, nothing. The first window still works fine, I can open tab upon tab, but it just won't open any more windows.

As much as I'm a fan of the browser tabs, I still prefer to have them spread out over more than one window.

I've read through a ton of different troubleshooting walkthroughs and whatnot, reinstalled three or four times, restored settings, but nothing works.

Well, not entirely, I guess. Here's the part that I can't quite figure out. When I disable every single addon, Firefox works just fine. I've done the checking down the list, trying to single one out, but it's *any* addon. Even something as simple as a dictionary search (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../68/) causes this to happen.

I've checked with an older computer with an older version of Firefox, and it still seems to work fine with addons enabled, so I'm wondering if this is an update issue?

Would reverting back to a previous version of Firefox solve this, and if so, where would I be able to find downloads for a previous version?

So, like I said, I'm at a bit of a loss here. Sort of at a crossroads for trying to figure out what to try next, so I'm hoping someone a bit more knowledgeable can help steer me in a direction.

Edit: I just noticed that the posting includes system information with my question. I should clarify that I'm posting this from an older computer with an older version of Firefox. On the computer that I'm having this issue with, I'm using the newest version of Firefox (3.6.8).

i click on the link to downloads and a new opens with the download that only takes a couple seconds to download once that happens there is no more activity or installation process i try restarting firefox and my computer and Im still on the same version

I've upgraded to the latest Firefox, but something is preventing websites from reading that I have upgraded. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

At first I thought it was a specific website, but I have found that it's affecting my websites on an overall way. Again I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It also doesn't seem to affect any of my other internet browsers.

This wouldn't be an issue, but most websites are demanding I upgrade and even disabling me from using certain features until I do.

I have sett FFox to clear all history when the FFox closes. But SOMETIMES I need to restart FFox and keep the opened tabs. (sessionstore?) It would be very useful a "re-start" button. How to do this?

I want to speak with someone, either by phone or chat-because I don't understand why I am still getting error messages. When I check which version of Firefox I have- it says 8.0...but hardly any websites recognize this. Gmail doesn't, yours doesn't...so what is going on?

I try to drag the app into the applications folder where an old app of firefox exists and it asks me if I want to replace it and after i say yes it gives me the operation cannot be completed message.

Running Windows XP pro, all software is up to date, running latest versions of firefox.----these buttons do work when using any other browser. In firefox, the buttons are visible but they wont change the pointer arrow to the finger when you mouse over them. This seems to have been doing this since the new version of hotmail has been out. The forums on hotmail have asked this same question but the customers are always directed to go back to the web browser developers.

I've had to upload 62 updates and I'm still being told that I don't have the latest version. Can I by-pass each of the updates and go directly to the latest version? If version 3.0.13 is the latest How can I get there?

When I open Monzilla Foxfire to get to the google window, I am greeted with an 'urgent update message' to update my foxfire for my protection. This occurs on an almost daily basis and to assure that my use is protected I download the free protection that you offer two, three, four times a week, sometimes daily. How often am I suppose to download? And am I doing something wrong?

I have read most of the information available for the, "Firefox is not able to show the Toolbar. Please re-install the Toolbar" fixes and nothing works. I can get google toolbar and any other toolbars I want to use but I cannot seem to get rid of this stupid button and the space it wastes at the top of the screen. Is there an easy fix that doesnt require an engineering degree?

i have tried numerous times and ways to get firefox 4 to work with google, bing etc, but every time it just freezes up, either just going into limbo state or imediately flagging up that firefox is not responding. trying to close it can prove difficult when in this state too, as it can take upto 4 attempts to close untill it finally draws down the screen to close. I read the support section earlier for suggestions an downloaded another virus/ malware program... i shut my bullguard down and ran this, hoping to get results, restarted the comp as prompted and .......... still no joy with search engines, msn, ebay, face book etc all work fine, just no search engines,.... the best way to describe what happens is.... first the loading icons are green.... they just stop spinning.... then the cursor will either stay as a pointer or look like a capitol I..... at this point i cannot do anything, no clicks to open or close the browser down as it just stops, when i click on the cross to close, it asks if i want to end a non responsive prog, and i click yes...... and do it again and again and again before it relinquishes and slides down the screen .. albeit slowly to close help !!!!!!! never had this problem before updating to firefox 4

1. Can a toolbar be moved (up/down to another row) ?

2. Can a toolbar be resized , so to adjust two (maybe even 3) different toolbars on a single row?

If not, this would be a nice feature because it would provide more space for the main space showing webpage ( by eliminating wasted lost space at the top/bottom rows. )
