I have all the requirements- XP, 1GB Ram, and 2GB of free hard disk space, yet Firefox crashes many times. And each time I have to download it again, is becoming a menace.

When I am typing an blog or e-mail and hit backspace, instead of deleting the character, Firefox navigates backwards...which erases everything I type. Firefox does not cache or save anything so I have to start over.

I tried options, setting, preferences...I cannot find a way to turn this annoying 'feature' off.

This same thing happened last year and I can't recall how I solved it. I have an sbcglobal.net email address and I customized a homepage. I also customzed an Awesome Start Google page with 8 different links to frequently visited websites. I also have passwords and logins saved for places such as live journal, facebook and twitter. Now, all of a sudden each time I open my browser, the homepage is a generic ATT page and I have to log in to get my mail - which didn't work over and over because ATT kept telling me my username or password was wrong, which it wasn't. I called them and they showed me how to reset a password and at first it worked, but then it happened again. Anyway, my internet provider is Comcast, so ATT can't really help all that much since I don't have an official account with them. Also, now each time I open the browser, the Awesome start page is back to defaults with none of my links. Also, I have to relogin to facebook, twitter, etc. I don't really use the feature from Firefox where they ask if I want the password saved, so that's not an issue. I do have Roboform and use that. Anyway, could you please tell me how to repair these problems, perhaps something to do with the profile folder - which I did try to find using the instructions, but it looked different than on your page. Help!

I recently had to restart my computer and am using the older version of Firefox. My problem is that whenever I try to download an application, the popup dialogue box that asks me where or what I want to do with that file is so tiny that I cannot get it to a bigger size. How do I get it to be bigger??

Question I can't get Firefox to load some of my pages. My error message reads as follows-javascript:ScreenDisable(");GetMenuPage('218:WeekendDetailExport'); Can anyone help with this???? What does it mean?? I also got an URGENT message to upgrade my version (8.0) for security attack reasons but can't find how to do so as your site says that the upgrades are automatic. HELP Pls

My computer is a 2008 MacBook. My gmail window prompts me to update to the new 6.0.2 version of Foxfire, which I've tried to do many times over the fast few months, always with the same results. The first step to download 6.0.2 to the desktop works fine. The second step tells me to drag the icon to the Application Folder when prompted. It never prompts me to drag it to the Application Folder; I've waited up to 10 minutes for this prompt. When I try to drag it without the prompt the Application Folder it seems to work. In step three I'm to drag the Application Folder to the Foxfire icon in the menu bar at the bottom on the screen. When I try the Foxfire icon won't except the Application Folder. Please help, my gmail is working less and less well.

i can't download firefox 6.0, like normal folks so i need to open up a terminal/console to do it, but i don't know what i need to write in there to make it happen i have already saved the file in the usr section if you can give me a simple method, that would be great i was not able to download directly from the site and asked me to save the file and then how do i proceed? i have used the terminal/console to update other programs before thanks

Since upgrading to Firefox 6.0, some copy is appearing in a script font that is really difficult to read. I first noticed it in the body of an email I received, but then saw it on some web sites I was visiting. It also appears when I am typing.

I am on a Mac.

After upgrading from MS Office Professional 2007 to MS Office Home & Office 2010, I can't copy & paste text selections from the internet into MS Word 2010 documents. When I use MS Internet Explorer to browse the internet, I can copy & paste text selections into MS Word 2010 documents just fine. Prior to changing to MS Office 2010, there was no noticeable difference in copy & paste into MS Word 2007 with Firefox or MS Internet Explorer. Seems like MS Word 2010 is blocking the use of Firefox to copy & paste internet text selections into MS Word documents.

When I try to update I get a message that I don't have privileges. Also, Firefox has been crashing. I was at Version 4 today, but after I tried to update, I had Version 3.0.

How can I cause the tabs and buttons to be where they were on the older versions? I've tried to get used to the "new" interface, but I spend so much time looking for things that I used to know exactly where they were. How can I get the old version back, or how can I cause this one to put things where they're supposed to be? The tabs should be along the bottom, right above the web page display. And what happened to the little down-arrow on the back button that would allow me to go back to a previous page? And why on earth did you put the "undo" button where it is?? Makes no sense to me. Gimme back the old interface. Or must I abandon Firefox? jan Smith

I am trying to upgrade to 6.0 and when i try to do so, it tells me to save the file - where to? and then how do i download this version i need very simple instructions - i know how to open up a terminal and can do it that way if you explain it to me thanks

the ed-meister provided a great simple mode for installing the 3.0 version of firefox and i did it correctly, but then when i looked for updates, it said that i need to upgrade to firefox 5.0 and i need the simple mode for linux and i don't know what to type into the terminal/console

Error appears when trying to drag Firefox 4 to App folder

Oddly, on my Mac desktops, the install app says that "a newer version of what your trying to install is in your apps folder". No problems with installation and running FF 4.

On the MBP, it (correctly) says that an older version exists...but no installation and above error msg.

Many articles in the Washington Times have pictures but they do not show up on Firefox. They DO show up on Internet Explorer. The only pictures that show on Firefox (Washington Times) are the advertisements.
