I have ask.com as a search engine. I tried deleting by uninstalling it but it is still there although uninstalled. I have uninstalled Firefox butt it comes back when I reload it. I am asking this question as a last resort as if I can't get rid of it I will start using Safari for my internet

I'm trying to play an audio clip on a website. The site shows that the clip is playing, but I have no sound. My speakers are on and none of my volume mixers are muted. I played a clip from a different website and had sound. I spoke with Customer Service for the website where I'm not getting sound, and they tried playing the same clip on their computer, using Firefox, and it played the sound. I also tried playing a different clip on the same website, but again didn't have sound.

Hi, i have just recently started having an issue with Sync on my desktop. My associated Android and Mac Laptop do not experience any issues when attempting to sync, but the desktop constantly gives the same error. I have tried unpairing the desktop, clearing all files, restarting and then adding the desktop to sync once again, but the error persists.

All of the bookmarks on the desktop have vanished, but are still in my sync data and have no problems being viewed on the other paired devices. This also tells me that the issue isn't the sync server and is something unique to the desktop machine.

I am hoping that this won't require a reinstall, but if all else fails, it is an option. I will try to attach a log file once i have submitted the question.

I have Firefox 16.0.1, and as of lately, it's become too unbearably slow for me to continue using it. Even when typing this message, at certain points it will lag. When switching to new tabs or clicking links, it lags HORRIBLY. At least 4-5 seconds of wait time. And now it's started to screw up my enjoyment of YouTube videos by lagging when scrolling down the page (as it does with other sites) and lagging the video itself. I've tried the reset feature. That did absolutely nothing for me.

The only add-ons that I have are AdBlock Plus 2.1.2 and the FTDeepDark 4.8.3 theme. And I've already tried disabling (even removing) them to no avail.

What must I do for Firefox to run properly and quickly? I've been a huge fan up until now, and I'm seriously fed up with it. I have a very quick laptop (Win7, i7920XM, 8 gigs of DDR3, 256GB SSD, dual 5870 GPUs, etc.), and Firefox has always run great up until the past few month.s

When I click for a new tab I get a site "MyStart by Incredibar" I have unistalled the program but this site still shows up. I want to see my home page, or better yet the Bing thumbnails that used to appear. Where do I go to change the setting to get rid of the unwanted site?

When ordering and paying a train ticket by internet they send a pdf-file, which one must download and print. When downloading this with Firefox (from my e-mail account) the pdf-file says (SECURED) and I cannot print out the ticket (pdf-file). (Adobe program stops automatically). When downloading this same pdf-file in Safari, I encounter no problems.

This is for anyone who has had issues loading Facebook, eBay, twitter or any other site which shows plain text pushed to the left hand-side of the screen and fails to load images.

This issue had me stumped for about 3 hours. No matter what I did. No matter what I disabled. The problem remained. I cleared my cache, reset cookies, disabled addons, reset Firefox to default settings and kicked my pc a few times for good measure.

The problem was fairly simple and at my end, this is not a problem with firefox. SSL certification for facebook was being deemed invalid and therefore the site failed to load properly. Now because Firefox doesn't deal with SSL certificate failures, there had to be something else going on in another program. I then realised that Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 was the problem. If a website failed SSL certification for any reason Kaspersky Blocks access to the site which was causing the page to not load properly. You have to disable Kaspersky's SSL certifcation checks to be able to run the websites properly. You need to load your Kaspersky main menu and click Settings once there go to the tab that looks like a cardboard box (Object Detection Settings and Exclusion Rules) then when you can see a list of different options select Network and you should see Monitored Ports and Encrypted Connections Scan, disabled the encrypted connections then reload Firefox and try the webpage that wouldn't load. To know that kaspersky is the problem, you will get a dialogue saying you have to add facebook as an exception since it failed SSL Certification and this was the culprit for me atleast.

I looked at the mozilla support forums and it seemed to me, many people were getting this issue and some issues went completely unresolved and there was no mention about Kaspersky, so I hope this helps.bold text

I use my laptop both at home and at work. And in each venue I use a different user log on. But I wish to have firefox use the same profile for each user log on. How can I get firefox to point to the same profile for each user?

A little while after I start going through my e-mail the Checking button starts going and won't stop and if I re-load the page all the e-mails I have either read or deleted come back on all over again! I would appreciate any help you can give me and THANK YOU in advance!

Several keywords on my site have suddenly developed "links" to affiliate ads. This only appears on Firefox browser though. No sign on it on Explorer or Chrome.

There is no visible script or coding that I can find.

Any ideas.

I was navigating through my website last night (www.roxxsterclub.com), when I suddenly was taken to a page which said something along the lines of, "This page is untrusted. Get me out of here." However, since I was navigating through MY OWN website, I thought everything was secure so I created an exception and allowed access to the page. Ever since then, whenever I navigate to the url of my site in Firefox 16.0, I am taken to a different website about a Cricket Club. This is not a redirect, since my url remains in the url bar. This seems to be a Firefox-only issue, because when I am able to access my site under different browsers. I cleared the cookies, cache, and history, but that didn't fix the problem. Suggestions?

Please help My virtual classroom refuses to open with Firefox but works with chrome since reinstallation due to very slow reception ( 1 meg download in a 20 meg zone) I am unable to use firefox neither professionally nor personally Youtube doesn't work either The It department of my company are unable to find a solution

First off, I like to download like any other person on the internet. I mean, who doesn't after all we all have something we want to download. But what really bothers me is the move from the Downloads window to this new integrated system. I'm sure someone out there thought "hey, this is a great idea!". Well, It's not. First off I like to keep track of my downloads while browsing the world wide web, I can't do this now, unless of course I open the "downloads" tab to a new window. Which to me just seems like a waste of resources just see how my downloads are doing. Now I tried using the 'about:config browser.download.useToolkitUI to true' However, this method while it gives me my download window back, I can't see the downloads. So Why is that option still part of firefox if it's that pointless? Who in there right mind thought turning the download window into a tab was a good idea? Lastly, is there an option that works, or, am I finally going to learn how to build my own web browser from scratch?

On some websites (eBay for example) you have to enter a verification code (to avoid spam messages) to be able to send email to a seller. When I do that in Firefox the website won´t accept my enter and asks me to enter the code (a new one) again. When I execute exactly the same procedure in Internet Explorer there are no such problems. (Firefox ver 16.02.4680. IE ver 8.0.6001.18702.) What shall I do to be able to use Firefox in the same way as IE? Best regards Rolf Bergquist

I followed the suggestions from post a year ago, but the answer I was directed to no longer works. This used to be easy until they changed the bookmark section on Firefox. Wondering why there does not seem to be a choice simply marked "New Folder" or if there is, where is it?

All links are java applets which until your security issues on Java were implements worked flawlessly and better than any other browser service...
