I am running Firefox for mac version 13.0.1. I keep getting the update window and I have tried numerous times to update but I get the window "connecting to the update server" and it just sits and sits and sits and never connects. If I download the latest version rather than updating I am afraid I will loose all of my bookmarks.

I keep on having problems with Flash crashing. I try downgrading to Flash 10.3 but that only remains installed for a day before my Firefox automatically updates back to Flash 11 and that crashes, so I have to go through the whole installing and uninstalling process again. I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to stop Flash 11 reinstalling itself so I can avoid this problem

My computer, or the software (windows 7) crashed yesterday. I got my system back up and running through HP tech support. But, now I have the problem of trying to restore all my bookmarks that I had with firefox before the crash. Unfortunately, HP's tech support can't seem to help that issue, even though I did do a backup on a DVD prior to the fix. Being I suspect firefox has a way of remembering my bookmarks, how in the world can I now reinstall those bookmarks, and I had plenty, to my now repaired windows 7 system? I'm sure hoping, there has to be a way to restore all of my previous bookmarks! Can anyone help?

Some time firfox add some toolbar automatically then it is very slow. after that it will not searching, downloading any website like http://www.ccolumns.com/

Firefox announced a software update. I accepted and it has been trying to connect to the update server for more than 24 hours now. The mozilla program itself seems to be working fine, but I've just never seen this before. My Mac is less than 6 months old and I have no issues with any other programs. I've tried to run this update before and the same thing happens. This time I thought I'd wait it out, but this is a little crazy. What's going on with the update?

The tabs keep appearing from a couple of days ago. Sometimes they are replaced by later tabs created. This version of Firefox is not as user friendly as my older version was. Now running Windows 7 and not XP.

I am writing a Help file system for a Web-based application that runs in Firefox 13. I need to make sure that the Help file output is compatible with a Firefox platform. Which types of Help platforms are compatible with Firefox? For example: .chm, .html, .xhtml, etc.?

When will Mozilla and Oracle fix the Java Problem?

If I update to FF v18 my Java will not work correctly with either Java 7U9 or the latest version - basically no sound, no mouse support.

Therefore I have downloaded FF v13 and installed it with Java 7U9 and it works. It's all I can do if I'm to use the Java-enabled sites I need. No point in prompting me to update, as the update just plain doesn't work!!

Everything worked in Internet Explorer with both Java 7U9 or the latest Java, so I can see myself migrating to IE or Chrome.

I have been accessing a Facebook app right along without any issues, and now suddenly Firefox is saying that the certificate is invalid and will not let me connect. The problem is that I am not being given the option to bypass the warning, all I get is the Get me out of here option. I have tried clering all histories, caches, etc. I have even gone so far as to uninstall Firefox, remove all personal settings, and reinstall it, and it still hasn't solved the problem. I have tried all the suggestions posted here, and they have not helped/

I am running an automated task to visit known (friendly) websites on a cron job (in Linux). It is absolutely essential that firefox NOT pop ANY unwanted dialogs, as this brings the whole thing to a grinding halt.

I have switched off ALL updates using the edit/preferences dialog, and additionally switched off a number other such obnoxious-looking things using about:config.

Yet it still insists on popping a window that says "Select Your Add-ons." I don't know why, since I have never seen it before. I have a screen shot of the unwanted dialog, but don't see any way to upload it as part of this question.

To standard out, it sends this:

I search for some of these things (e.g. addons.manager) in about:config, but in vain.

How did it decide the "Application" has been upgraded? I have ALL UPDATES TURNED OFF!!!

How can I get it to stop, and never EVER try to update or pop any unwanted dialogs?

Not a new user. This problem is on my desktop computer. Can't get on internet on that computer, so am using laptop, which may display incorrect info for this question.

Recently, I stumbled into a directory containing several hundred icon files. Obviously, this directory belongs to Firefox:

C:\.....\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ikq6zo8j.default\jumpListCache

My privacy settings are: "Clear history when Firefox closes" with all checkboxes ticked.

I checked everything but these icons don't go away. Searched the internet regarding this problem. Nothing. Searched Firefox Addons. Nothing.

Now if we talk about privacy and take it serious, there MUST be a setting to clear this directory after exiting Firefox. Since this seems to be favicons, everyone can find these icons and easily reconstruct all the sites accessed by the user.

I'm appalled by this behaviour, as it's a massive privacy violation. What's the use of clearing the history, when those icons aren't deleted?

Smart Suggestor keeps popping up and I want to uninstall but cannot find it. It is not in my add-ons, extensions, programs, folders...no where! There is no buttons to click on my right hand tool bar etc. I am running foxfire 13.0.1, windows 7. It is very annoying, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using a website that I consider safe, yet, each time I visit it I receive the warning box telling me the site could be unstable. I recall there is some place to enter the website so that it is allowed and such warnings are eliminated but I can't remember where/how.

Hi need some help!

When trying to look at pictures on housing websites I either get just the top of the picture load or half the picture and the rest greyed out. It only seems to be on a few as everything on Facebook and BBC news seems to load ok.

Have tried clearing history etc. but still with no luck! Have also tried to use IE but still having the same problem as Firefox

Firefox does not trust a specific secure website that I know is secure, but it does trust other secure websites. Also, Internet Explorer trusts this website and Firefox on another computer trusts this same website. When I try to connect Firefox tells me that it does not have a valid certificate (even though I know one exists) and that I would have to make an exception to connect. Is there some way I can correct this and get the proper certificate into this particular Firefox program?

With the problem of Default Browser Firefox 13.0.1 and not being able to access my yahoo E mail account on this browser. I have read and tried to the suggestions fro FAQ and the Community to no avail. I will uninstall the Firefox browser until your group has any further suggestions to resolve this issue. Will installing firefox 12 resolve issue? Richard Meyers
