There are just so many people complaining about Firefox 4 - all with the same basic problem - Firefox 4 consumes far-too much memory and appears to increase memory usage over time.

So far I have heard NOTHING from Mozilla regarding this problem.

Have Mozilla identified the problem? Is there a work around? When will there be a permanent fix?

My computer is being scanned after I use it. This person has discovered that Recently Closed Tabs & Recently Closed Windows leaves a trail of the sites that I have visited. I would like to delete this trail but have not discovered how I should do it.

I downloaded 4.0 beta, in my plugin of 4.0 beta is the updated adobe shockwave director 11.5.9.620, shockwave flash 10.2.152.26, both are enable but when i play a video from youtube, the video play a few sec. and then stop for a few sec. then plat again for a few more sec. I unstall then reinstall adobe shockwave still have the same problem what should i do. I have window xp. I uses optiplex 745 dell bold text

I have a problem, as I use online banking. I have currently version 4 of firefox loaded and the above bank doesn't support this version (Firefox 3.5/6 only. How can I load both versions on my system

When playing a video stream from a website, I get choppy playback. The playback works in 10 second groupings, then stops to retrieve more data, plays a little more, then repeats process. A 3 minute video can take 6 minutes of frustrating playback. I'm trying to start with Firefox, Windows 2000 machine (yes, it's a dinosaur) to see how to speed it up.

Firefox 4 became unusable. Firefox 3.6.16 is using about 110,00k of memory - but Firefox 4 was using, typically 160,000k but anything up to 200,000k causing my machine to hang as it struggled to find the memory.

The weird thing about the memory use was that it just kept on climbing - just a couple of tabs open, nothing special, but you watch the memory usage keep stepping on in about 200k increments.

There appears to be a major memory leak in Firefox 4, and until it is rectified it really is, for me, completely unusable. I had to use explorer to download 3.6.16 it was that bad.

FF version 3.6.3 on 2kPro

The certificate on the site I am accessing expired and was replaced yesterday. I can access the site from IE and see that it has updated the certificate information but I cannot from FF. I tried deleting the old certificate in hopes that it would load the new one, no Joy. Also restarted FF, no help.

After I installed Firefox 4, I got some sort of message asking if I want yahoo as home page (I think that's the way it went). I accidentally clicked on the wrong thing. I still have the same screen that I always had & wanted come up when I boot up, but now I have, just beneath t he bar with the back/forward buttons and the address bar and google search bar, a full bar across of yahoo stuff. It messes me up because, when I'm in yahoo email, it opens a nuisance window that won't go away.

How do I delete the yahoo tool bar invasion and get rid of its invasive, nuisance windows? I don't want any of it on my screen. I've gone to yahoo all along via my bookmarks, and that's all I want. Also don't need the word "yahoo" in my firebox bar (the one that has file-edit-view-history-bookmarks-tools-help).

I am using FireFox 3.6.12 and was not able to login into mail.yahoo.com due to 'Untrusted Certificate' error. Now I am able to to see mail.yahoo.com as I raised the exception and change the system date (don't know how it went forward). On knowing the issue was related to login.yahoo.com certificate, I checked on for firefox browser. It says that it is valid till 1/4/2011 only. Does that mean I won't be able to use yahoo once it expires? dbengali

I want to use the QuickTime plugin for Firefox, but version 7.1 is blocked, and version 7.2 doesn't support Windows 2000.

I'm fine with running 7.1; the risk is very small, and I'm willing to accept it. Or does someone have another solution?

Running Firefox version 3.6.3, and this browser is blocking my accessing Google.com. AOL/Yahoo and Msn.com I can log on to, but every time I try to go to Google.com I get Google.co.uk very annoying, and it is limiting my web searches.

I have just downloaded UK version from http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/ . My homepage shows Japanese text only - I am currently in Japan so I assume Firefox shows Japanese by default - but I want English. How to make it default to English? After running firefox a long time, i close it. But it appeared that it was still opened using a large part of memory.

I kill firefox, then reopen it, and 4 windows open with blank pages on the website infomoneyservice.com.

It appears these pages were opened before, but in an hidden way, and they don't show in history.

It happened to me 5 or 6 times since 1 week before i wa able to reproduce some symptoms in a systematic way.

I think this problem is also related to some interceptions of google results.

navigation buttons are grayed out - red x is missing from tabs........web pages will not show images..................the image cannot be displayed......contains errors.

Is there a way I can delete a security exception that I added? I tried to order from a website whose security certificate had expired, and I decided to add the exception on my laptop, and then wasn't able to order from the site anyway. I've not had any problems with my laptop, but I would feel better if I knew the exception had been deleted. I wasn't sure which menu I needed to use to delete it, if it's even possible. I have no idea why I thought adding the exception was a good idea in the first place, because now I'm just paranoid. Thanks!!
