Another long time user that has been with you for years has had enough, over to Opera where I can write an email without looking like an unprofessional dummy that can't even use spell checker.
Linux mint 14, fully updated, two different pc's both same problem with spellchecker, this problem has been going on for a long time now. Do you really expect people to use a browser without a spellcheck? This has been a 'bug' for how long now? People just go elsewhere, why wouldn't you, try running a business and sending people sketchy looking emails.
I fix PC's for a living, I used to put everybody onto Thunderbird and Firefox, do you think I still do that? Obviously like the people I know who do the same thing for a living, I put them onto Chrome so they don't ring me complaining that it doesn't work properly.
You guys are loosing market share for a reason, we need a functional non bloated browser that doesn't freeze and crash all the time, forget the fancy add-ons and themes, make the basics work because from the techiest person to the most useless pleb luddite, we all need the basics to work or the browser is a useless piece of crap.
This site is proof of how you are alienating people too, I go to register and it tells me I don't need to register for a new question, I click on that and half way through it asks me to register, then when registering it took about 6 tries for your javascript to accept it: "username too short", "password is short", "username exists". Tell us before ffs! I nearly gave up and shut the window. Anybody unfamiliar with pc's would have given up after a try or two and gone back to IE.
Please, please, get your stuff together, I love Mozilla and I love Firefox, it's named after my favourite baddies in the original Donkey Kong, ffs, I love you guys, get back to basics and make a functional browser that people prefer to IE, you are killing it, get back to basics and make it FUNCTIONAL

I have keyword.URL set to http://www.google.com/search?btnG=Google+Search&q= . This works fine if I enter more than one word in the address bar, like "Hello Goodbye." If I enter a SINGLE (non-url) word, however, I get sent to a website called website-unavailable.com, which I do not want. Why is keyword.URL not working correctly? Using Firefox 17 for linux.

Firefox 17.01 Ubuntu 12.04
If I go to Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Encryption
it looks like 'View Certificates' is the likeliest place to look for the Security Exceptions resulting from me clicking 'Confirm Security Exception'.
I have looked at the five tabs on the next dialog box 'Certificate Manager', and the most likely looks like the 'Servers' tab.
On this tab, I can see that there is a button to 'Add Exception...', but nowhere to 'Show Exceptions', and the 'Add Exception...' button only provides means to add a new exception.
HTTPS: This Connection is Untrusted -> click "Add Exception" -> can NOT click "Confirm Security Exception" button

When using FF 19.0.2 on Ubuntu or Win7, to work on lab machines where an invalid self-signed cert has previously been "permanently stored", but has since changed. I (and much of the rest of the internet it would seem) frequently get caught in a catch 22 where an exception must be added to continue, but FF will not permit an exception to be added because "This site provides valid, verified identification. There is no need to add an exception".
I see this reported time & again in forums, but it seems as yet unfixed.
Doesn't seem to be an issue if one is rigorous and _always_ UN-checks "Permanently store this exception". To fix includes contortions through numerous work arounds, including clearing certs (hard, when cert list is full of self-signed localhost certs), history, cache, etc. until FF finally lets you "Confirm Security Exception".
I am at my wits end, and will have to start thinking of alternative browsers for day to day use.
FYI: IE & Chrome both let me confirm the damn exception and move on with my life.

I have Firefox 20.0 (binary package) on Gentoo x86_64
Uncheking "Use system colors" works until Firefox isn't closed, then restarting it's checked again.
Same behaviour setting "browser.display.use_system_colors" as "false" in about:config.
I tried using a completely blank profile (deleting ~/.mozilla) but still same behaviour.
Any ideas?

Hello,
I have account in Sync and 4 or 5 devices connected to it. Since last week I can not syncing with server on my one device - Notebook with Linux Mint, Firefox 19. I receive error: "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."

I used to run Ubuntu 12.10 & Aurora 22 on my computer. Recently I've updated my Ubuntu to 13.04 beta, and ever since that happened, every website I try to go to (including Google search and so on...) shows "connecting..." for about 20 seconds before finally showing any content. My connection speed is 20 Mbps and Chrome works fine. Downgrading to Firefox 20.0 didn't solve it. Neither using the "Reset Firefox" feature nor safe mode solved it.
I absolutely love Firefox, been a fan of the browser for years and I'd hate permanently moving to Chrome. Help, please?

This problem has happened after upgrading from Firefox 10 to Firefox 17 with Windows XP.
When I try to reach http://google.com/ , gmail.com and some other important pages, the status bar says: Waiting for google.com or Waiting for accounts.google.com, but then it redirects to the blank page (that shows the last 9 pages that was more visited or so so...)
If there is a solution to Firefox 10 back, ok, no problem. Just tell me and I will do that.

Wanted to reset Firefox preferences. Went to "Help>Troubleshooting Information". It brought up a screen with all kinds of information on it, but there is no "reset" button in the upper right (or anywhere that I can see) on the page.
I running under Linux desktop (Fedora 17). The version of Firefox is 18.0.

Downloads for a Windows machine are Easy to install. Downloads for a Linux machine aren't easy to install. If said downloads where made available as a.deb package they (from a computer user's standpoint) would become just as easy to install. A.deb package is one of four ways that Linux installs downloads and in my humble opinion is the easiest. Otherwise I am forced to wait for the latest Firefox to become available in the "Package Manager". Currently using Linux Mint Nadia>
